A day of dialogue. A room full of possibility. A future worth investing in.

The Collegiate 100, Howard University Chapter, in partnership with the 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, D.C., brought PATHWAYS to life through our annual CBC Forum, creating a space for the next generation of leaders to engage with the issues, ideas, and decisions shaping our world.

Featuring conversations with Congressman Glenn Ivey, Jaden York, and other distinguished voices, this year’s forum offered more than an opportunity to listen. It challenged us to examine our role in civic life, recognize the power of collective action, and consider how we can turn knowledge into meaningful change.

From the exchange of ideas to the connections made throughout the day, PATHWAYS reflected what becomes possible when young people are given the space, resources, and encouragement to lead.

As we look back on these moments, we carry forward the lessons, perspectives, and responsibility that came with them. Because leadership is not defined by the conversations we have, but by what we choose to do after them.

The path forward is a responsibility we all share.

Reflecting on another memorable chapter of our annual CBC Forum: PATHWAYS.

This year’s forum brought together students, leaders, and community voices for a day centered on civic engagement, leadership, service, and the power we each have to shape the future of our communities.

We were proud to hear from distinguished speakers, including Jaden York, Congressman Glenn Ivey, and other influential voices who offered valuable perspectives and real-world insight. Their experiences encouraged us to think critically, stay engaged, and recognize the impact we can make beyond the classroom.

From meaningful dialogue and interactive conversations to connecting with leaders across different fields, PATHWAYS created opportunities to learn, challenge our perspectives, and build with one another.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s CBC Forum meaningful, and to everyone who came ready to listen, participate, and grow.

The pathway forward starts with us.

Authority on the bench is earned through respect for the people it serves.

At this week’s candidate forum, Alycia Grace-O’Bear spoke about what the role truly demands: professionalism, temperament, and accountability. The bench belongs to the public, and every decision made from it should reflect that.

She’s lived that standard as a former Administrative Law Judge and a former Assistant District Attorney right here in the 18th JDC.

And the community showed up. Thank you to every family member, friend, supporter, and elected official who came out to stand with her. 💙

Come meet her yourself:

A look back at an unforgettable day at the our annual CBC Forum: PATHWAYS.

We had the opportunity to come together with students, leaders, and changemakers for meaningful conversations centered around civic engagement, leadership, service, and the pathways that shape our communities.

We were honored to welcome distinguished speakers, including Jaden York, Congressman Glenn Ivey, and other impactful voices who shared their experiences, perspectives, and insight with the next generation of leaders. Their words challenged us to think beyond where we are today and consider the responsibility we have to create meaningful change in our communities.
From engaging discussions and thought-provoking conversations to opportunities to connect with leaders across different fields, PATHWAYS gave us a space to learn, reflect, and engage with issues that matter.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s

This weekend at CBC was nothing short of amazing. ♦️

We had the opportunity to connect with so many great Brothers, build new relationships, and create memories that will last well beyond the weekend.

From our first experience in DC during the Kappa Takeover to returning for CBC Weekend, this city continues to show us nothing but love. DC has easily become one of our most memorable cities, and every visit reminds us what Brotherhood is truly about.

Diamond in the Sky — The Scent of Achievement representing achievement, resilience, and Brotherhood everywhere we go.

Until next time, DC. ♦️👌🏾

The Voices From the Capitol Speaker Series continued last week with an engaging session featuring former Louisiana Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne, one of Louisiana’s most accomplished and respected public servants.

With alumni representing multiple Governor’s Fellows classes, the discussion focused on leadership and public service, drawing on Jay’s decades of experience serving Louisiana at the highest levels of state government. He emphasized three key characteristics that have shaped his leadership journey: enthusiasm, optimism, and integrity.

Through personal stories and lessons learned throughout his distinguished career, Jay shared how these principles can help leaders navigate challenges, build trust, and inspire others to work toward a common goal. His message reinforced the importance of leading with purpose, maintaining a positive outlook, and staying grounded in strong values.

The conversation provided valuable insights for Fellows alumni committed to making a difference in their communities, careers, and public service endeavors.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and former Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne for sharing his leadership wisdom and experiences. More conversations to come.

Day 2 of Kappas on Capitol Hill 2026 ♦️🇺🇸

Dressed in our Kappa blazers, black slacks, and red ties, Brothers from across the nation gathered on Capitol Hill for a day centered on leadership, civic engagement, and education. In legislative meetings, Brothers advocated for 1) Passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act 2) HBCU Funding increase in the NDAA 3) Repeal of PLUS loan limits.

One of the highlights of the day was joining together on the East Capitol Steps for a Brotherhood photo alongside all of our Brother Members of Congress.

During the Howard L. Tutman, Jr. Luncheon, Brothers heard from special guests, Brother Troy Carter (LA-02) and keynote speaker, Brother Hakeem Jeffries, Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. Their presence served as a reminder of the many ways Kappa men continue to make meaningful contributions in public service and communities across the country.

We thank our lead sponsors for this year’s conference, @westerngovernorsu who are committed to closing opportunity gaps and creating pathways to economic mobility.

As Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. operates in a nonpartisan, educational capacity, Kappas on Capitol Hill remains an opportunity to learn, engage, and strengthen our commitment to informed citizenship, leadership, and service.

If you see a brother you know in this post, please tag them below 👌🏾
