🐎 Lonesome Dove - TBB Edition 🌾

QOTD: Have you been reading anything outside of your comfort zone recently?

The closest I’ve ever come to consuming a Western piece of media is when I had to do a film study on Dances with Wolves in high school. Naturally we dissected it to death and so the genre lost some shine for me, but I’m slowly but surely being sucked back in, and this edition might just be the spark that tips me over the edge.

I couldn’t tell you the first thing about Lonesome Dove but I do know that it is very highly regarded, so what better time than now to give it a try? And it of course immensely helps when the copy of the book I have is THIS stunning.

Big shout out to @petrikleo for the incredible art direction here. This edition has such a cohesive and beautiful design across all features and I’m so happy to have it on my shelf.

Ooooooooooooooh boy, this one is special. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry has been my favourite read so far in 2026, and when @thebrokennbinding first announced they were doing a special edition of it, I think I almost fell down.

This edition features simply stunning artwork from front to back: a profoundly beautiful dust jacket by @jadillustrated, illustrated boards and endpapers by @kkeeleart, who also provided the interior artwork. There is also typography by @claymorecovers, all under the singular art direction of @petrikleo.

Another Throwback Friday and today we’re going to talk about The Fifth Season. We were so incredibly proud to be able to work on this series with Jemisin and on the rest of The Broken Earth Trilogy, wanting to create something super special. After all, N.K. Jemisin is the only person to win the Hugo Award for each book in a trilogy three years in a row!

The incredible John Anthony Di Giovanni @jadillustrated illustrated this for us, with 10 full colour images and also the incredible dustjacket (only with the standard edition) featuring Essun and Tonkee first arriving at Castrima-Under, the town carved from a Geode. The standard edition shown here is quarter-bound in marbled cloth by Freya Scott of Paperwilds with boards covered in cream paper and stamped in two colours. The slipcase is covered in purple buckram cloth for durability and stamped once with gold foil.

The book is printed on Munken Rough Cream 120gsm by Nomad Letterpress of Cheltenham and signed by both Author and Artist.
