Heller 1:24 Citroën HY – Imperial Service Vehicle

My entry for the Jadlam Group Build 2026, and my first time taking part!

This year’s challenge, Deliver the Goods, sees everyone starting with the same Heller Citroën HY van and having free rein to do whatever they like with it.

Being a huge fan of Star Wars, particularly Andor, I decided to take mine in a slightly different direction and turn it into a battered Imperial service vehicle.

The idea was to create something that wouldn’t look out of place in the background of an Imperial installation. Not a military vehicle as such, but an ordinary maintenance van that’s spent years being driven around some forgotten corner of the galaxy.

There’s been a fair bit of kitbashing involved, with spare parts from several other kits, including a Millennium Falcon, T-34, Phantom and B-17, finding their way onto the Citroën. The interior has also been modified with additional equipment, control panels and storage crates.

I wanted the vehicle to look well used and neglected. The spare wheel is exposed where its access hatch has gone missing, and the front right wheel has been modelled as broken off. Plenty of dirt, scratches and general wear to finish things off!

The base was another new challenge, and I really enjoyed putting together the rocky terrain and muddy tracks. In fact, the moment I sat the finished van on the base was the moment I knew the whole project was complete!

This has been a really enjoyable opportunity to try something completely different, and I’ve loved having the freedom to experiment with the kit.

Really pleased with how it’s turned out, and looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with for the group build!

10/10/26 - Bath TCG CUP

Learnt so much yesterday! Going into my first cup of the season at a notoriously high level store, my goal was simply to make top cut… But after a fairly poor start it was looking bleak. But we hit stride and won 5 on the bounce and for the first time won top 8! Then won top 4! Could we actually do it? I went to watch the other top 4 game finish and knew the final would be the toughest match up of the day, Pault or Zam Noir…

The final was a blur, we came out on the wrong side of it, but learnt a lot 👌🏼

Thank you @bathtcg for hosting another amazing event!
And thank you @jadlamracing for believing in me

This started life as an EG RX-78-2 kit, but I wanted to see if I could turn a relatively simple and inexpensive kit into something more unique and look like a higher grade kit.
-
The goal was to turn it into something that looked and felt more like a higher end display piece, without spending a fortune adding some weathering, extra decals and building a simple little diorama base to give it some character and more of a environment.

A change of pace and a kit that some might consider a compulsory coming of age milestone. @revellofficial Lancaster MkIII Special in the colours of Guy Gibson’s G for George outbound towards the Mohne dam during Operation Chastise. I’ve wanted to do an in flight model for a while now, but I built this with absolutely zero regards to where I’ll actually keep it. It’s tested the theory that there’s no such thing as a bad model, only a bad modeller… but it’s given me a low risk canvas to experiment with before I do something irreversible on a model that’s going to take several months to build (cough, Eduard P-51B, cough).

The base needs a few final touches but I’ll probably have a bases and borders tidy up week before these get wheeled out for somewhere.

Im@not 100% happy with it, there’s errors in my build and errors in the paint job; but overall it’s been a rewarding experience and it’s taken some of the fear out of some upcoming projects.

Cheers to @jadlamracing for the cheap deal!
