The view was worth the 2 hours of climbing to get there.

It took a little extra time to wash the Kansas mud off the bikes, but we’re still thinking about the resilience and determination on full display at this year’s Unbound Gravel.

Congratulations to all CTS athletes, and everyone else, who battled through one of the muddiest editions in race history.

Dozens of CTS athletes lined up across every distance, from the 25-mile and 50-mile events all the way to the 100, 200, and the legendary 350-mile Unbound XL. Here are just a few of their stories:

🏆 Bailey Hinz (coached by @jojokiesan) finished 2nd in the 35–39 age group and 5th overall amateur woman in the Unbound 200.

“It was my second-ever gravel race and on a borrowed bike. Two dropped chains and 30 miles of a rubbing front brake, but otherwise a smooth day in some insane conditions. I moved up throughout the day to finish second in my age group.”

🚴 Oliver Rutberg (coached by @jasonsiegle) finished 5th in the Elite U23 category at Unbound 100 and secured qualification for the Lifetime U23 Grand Prix through his performances at Sea Otter and Unbound.

💪 Jason Hooper (coached by @carolinemani1987) completed his fifth Unbound 200, earning the coveted 1,000-mile award. He finished in 12:11:40, placing 12th in the 40–44 age group.

⏱️ Kent Killian (coached by @reidbeloni) finished the Unbound XL in one of the most dramatic ways imaginable - crossing the line at 2:59:59 AM, just one second before the cutoff.

“I thought I had an hour to spare, so I was taking my time. My Garmin went haywire coming into town and I ended up riding several extra miles. So much rain and lightning. Truly brutal.”

We’re so proud of every CTS athlete who adapted, persevered, and found a way forward when conditions were at their worst. 👏🏼

UNBOUND 2026 - 100 miles. Some highlights. This was the easy part. The most physically, mentally and emotionally draining ride I have done. Utmost respect for those riding 350XL and 200m. #unboundgravel #unboundgravel2026 #mudbound
