POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One of them reflective posts! 😝 ⚠️ This year so far has been one of insight, reflection and regression. Of looking inward, questioning what I thought I knew, and learning to move through life with more intention and a deeper understanding of both the world around me and the world within me. We’re all on our own journeys, starting from different places, carrying different stories, chasing certain feelings while doing everything we can to avoid others. And yet, this very thing you’re using to read this can be one of the biggest thieves of the peace and joy already available in your own life. We’re constantly striving to become somebody. To be seen, to be enough, to achieve, to belong. But dig a little deeper beneath all those wants and ask yourself what it is you’re really searching for. you’ll most likely find that, underneath it all, we’re all not so different. Just humans, each carrying an entire world within us, trying to make sense of it all. Different stories, different paths, but connected by something far greater than the things we THINK define us. ✨ You are NOT what you thought 🤍 📸: @jakemchristian . . #poppunk #inspiration #reflective #growth

Filming events in a packed lecture theatre creates a challenge: How do you keep the camera setup relatively low-profile while making sure the final video feels intimate and engaging for someone watching weeks later? At the @universityofbristol 150 event, we covered an entertaining maths lecture from Professor Oliver Johnson alongside lightning talks from the Children of the 90s (ALSPAC) team. The lecture theatre was completely full, with narrow aisles and no space for bulky rigs or high tripods that block lines of sight. It was also steep, so a camera at the back would look down on the speaker and separate online viewers from the genuine atmosphere of the room. Hamish Beeston solved this by staying low-profile. Using a mini tripod, he sat among the audience to film from eye level with the speakers. It preserves the intimacy of the talk, bringing the digital audience straight into the front rows. Big thanks to the University of Bristol events team and volunteers and Evans Audio Visual Staging on AV in accommodating our set up to have Hamish sat down! When the headline act @dannywrightuk closes the Thnksfrthmmrs festival with @blink182, gets the crowd surfing, moshing AND a wall of death, you know you have witnessed history in front of your eyes. What I wouldn't give to see Blink play the UK with you boys supporting with your own music. Totally awesome 👌 👏 👍 and yes, I will be at the rockshow!

Back at BDFI in the Reality Emulator! Bristol Digital Futures Institute's first Sandpit programme culminated this week in a brilliant showcase event. Kicking off with a exploratory workshop for all comers in May, three project teams came together and won a grant to work with BDFI's experts and hi-tech equipment to push the boundaries of communal interactive data display. The final results were on show in full 360 glory. Films of the programme and the winning projects to come shortly but first some BTS with the Beeston Media team of Hamish Beeston, @jakemchristian and @tuesdie_

Happy 3 year Beeston Media anniversary to Jake! 🎉 Three years ago, we invited @jakemchristian to join us on a one-month trial, swapping his London base for Bristol. Fast forward to today, and he has fully made the South West his home. Like all our crew, Jake both shoots and edits, but we particularly value his ability to tackle all of our technical needs. If you’ve ever seen any of our ‘behind-the-scenes’ films, it’s more than likely Jake was behind the camera.

The lost americana tour may have come to an end, but the era of this album and everything it encapsulates will always remain with us. From bringing so many people together, the art and the memories that would’ve never been created without every detail of both the album and the live shows. We are eternally grateful for every second. This will live on with all of us and we hope we can take this energy into future albums and tours. Everybody stand together, everybody still together. @machinegunkelly We will always show up, to every era. - Vivien & Jake. A special thanks to the team who made it all possible: @andreciscoxx, @ashleighvev, @saintladant, @sstag_og, @samcahill, @zottoli, @roadiesandrockstars @onlyshaans, @painter_1989, @miaswindal, @therealslimshanieee 📸: @jakemchristian
