Lovely warm weather, drinks on the lawn, beautiful views... we're at Thornbridge alriggght!!!!

Tori & James had a beautiful day last week, marrying in church, covered in confetti, a couple hours chilling with drinks in the sun, oh look more confetti, a campervan journey, a handful of giggles and lots of camcorder 😂

Compliments to the guest list too, met some fab folk and even hung round to chat and enjoy the evening with @tomhodgson

Who thought getting into powerlifting whilst having a full time job within accountancy,
🧮
As well as a full time course on top of that which comes out at Masters level,
👨🏻‍🎓
As well as climbing multiple times per week,
🧗🏻‍♂️
As well as having a girlfriend & dog sounded like a fun idea?
👫🏻🏡🐶
JAMES KNIGHT
•
This comparison is his first to second comp, where he only needed to tie his DL to secure his spot on the podium 🥉
•
Whereas starting gym numbers were more around a 120 SQ, 180DL & bench pauses hadn’t been heard of🤷🏻‍♂️
•
Consistently training at 5am in the morning,
Consistently hungry to get after it,
Consistently never complaining,
•
James is a soldier & working with him has been nothing but a pleasure🤝💜

Especially to my brother (@juliusinvicta)and my coach (@thecouscouskid_pl) for making this journey possible and hopefully further into the future. Thanks to @thesleepypowerlifter @reece.liftss and @bigbengibson for making the experience that much smoother than it could’ve been and showing me how competitions operate. Can’t wait for the next one! 💪

What a weekend of powerlifting @ynepf worlds. Started on Friday night with setting up the venue. Coached my mother through her first comp on Saturday morning, working through some major pre comp nerves and coming out with an amazing pb. Then helped @thesleepypowerlifter handle 11 lifters across Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Then reffed squats Sunday afternoon before jumping in to relieve @mrkearsey as platform manager for bench and deads. Finally made it home after tear down and ready for bed.

After all of that I somehow failed to take a single photo all weekend so had to steal what I can from @thesleepypowerlifter
Absolutely epic weekend and super proud of all the lifters I’ve helped out along the way.

Happy 20th Anniversary @evolutiongymsheffield 🎁🎉🥂🍾

What an absolute honour and privilege to be a part of this amazing team?!

So much more than just a gym… We are a family ❤️

@jonclark_evogym you are just the kindest soul I have ever had the good fortune to encounter. You are absolute magic. You have touched countless lives (mine included) and that’s the reason you’ve been creating awesome since 2004…

Here’s to the next 20years… Because let’s face it you’re aging like Benjamin Button and will be here til you’re 100 at this rate!

This weekend was one of the most fun @ynepf Comp weekends I’ve had with the Team, up at @northeaststrengthculture 🥳
•
It wasn’t a perfect day for everyone, some misses, some mistakes, some first timers, but it’s all part of the process & the experience you get when you step out of the gym & put yourself on the platform🎬

Maybe a program & some feedback is all you want?👨🏻‍💻
And that’s cool👌🏻
•
But one thing I’ve always wanted to do through my Coaching is really share my passion for this sport & transcend those minimum expectations of ‘Coach’ or ‘an Online Coach’ & not just for it to be an online thing.
•
Through the first 3 weeks of the year, excluding competition settings I’ve seen or trained with 18 of our Team💜
•
A lot of decisions I make as Coach are simply from the viewpoint of ‘what do I think I would like or appreciate as the athlete’
•
So this being one of those extra ‘prongs’ be it…
•
Arranging team training sessions🤝📽️
•
Getting final primary sessions in together before comps👀
•
1 on 1’s🏋🏼‍♀️
•
Socials 🎳🍔
•
Changing my training time so I catch other people in the gym⌚️
•
Making days out of Comp days & getting as many through to support as possible🕺🏻🥇
•
Not just powerlifting.
•
For the love of powerlifting💜
