August Retreat Update👇

Many thanks to everyone who attended Awaken in June this year for the powerful experience we shared together. 😌✨

We’re incredibly grateful to this emerging community — it is an honour to host an event as powerful, connective, and edgy as Awaken. 💃💕

We are committed to hosting the best events we possibly can, and following the wonderful breadth of feedback we received from June’s retreat, our leadership team has some different ideas on how to continue to improve and make Awaken the best it can be. Those improvements warrant more time than we currently have and so we’ve made a tough decision — namely that we will NOT host a second Awaken retreat in August this year.

To responsibly steward the long term vision for Awaken and to support all participants in having the best experience, we have decided to take the time required to focus our efforts on making Awaken even better next year. We truly believe this decision will produce the best outcome for all.

Our deepest apologies to those who had planned to attend in August this year. If you have already purchased your ticket, please reach out to us at hi@awakenevent.org so we can arrange a refund.

Stay tuned for what emerges next 🌿💕

— with Gratitude from the Awaken Team

HEART NECTAR TEMPLE NIGHT This is an evening inspired by sensuality and devotion. A chance to explore your unique expressions, your desire and pleasure. Discover different flavours of juicy connections through the heart, sensuality, energetics, the physical, curiosity and imagination. Get to know yourself and others on a deeper intimate level through a soulful experience of passion, play, eros and sensuality. Embrace the gift of your true aliveness.
This is an invitation to connect from your authentic truth and honour and respect your own and other’s truths. We will honour all needs for consent to co-create a safe enough Temple space. This space will be opened with agreements, guidance and prayerformance leading to a new world of possibility.
Everything within the temple is your choice and you participate as you feel called. Dress up in whatever way expresses your Sacred Erotic Self or simply undress. Come explore the mystery and embrace the freedom and creativity that await. #playparty #connection #tantrafestival

Ever looked at flowers after it just rained and thought… damn, I’m kinda turned on right now 🫠

Something about petals covered in dew drops.. a thick bed of moss beneath the palm.. mountain breeze kissing flushed skin.. tree roots that become cradles.. acorns biting into bare feet..

Are the ecosensualists in the room with us now? 😛

One of my favourite things about ecosensuality is the way in which it adds so much pleasure, beauty, and joy to our daily lives- how the simple things suddenly become succulent reminders of our eros 🌿

It reminds us of all the vibrant LIFE around, and yet.. ensures we honour the natural cyclical nature of all the seasons- a mirror of how our eros, too, goes through its own seasons.

Some days your eros may feel like a gushing river. Others, perhaps more of quiet grove.

Whatever it be, nature supports us with dropping into the subtle currents of our senses, embracing them in whatever capacity we desire.

I’m so excited to share an Ecosensuality workshop with you all at Awaken this year. Is it on your list to attend? ⛲️

Only 1 week left to get your applications in for our June retreat!!

And then we are on the land frolicking together June 13-17 🧚🏼‍♀️🪄🌷✨

Last chance loverssss ;) peep our website for more details and to get your applications in xx

The #1 reason people avoid having explicit conversations about consent? 🫣👇

They fear it will break the “mood” 🫦

But nothing breaks the mood more than overstepping a boundary, or engaging in behavior that isn’t mutually satisfying or pleasurable 😝

So here are 5 ways to make consent s3xy:

💾 Save this post and share with a l0ver!

1. **Emphasize Exploration:** Frame consent discussions as an opportunity to explore each other’s d€sires and boundaries, creating a sense of anticipation and curiosity.

2. **Celebrate any No’s:** Rather than taking a no personally, thank your partner for their honesty and courage in expressing their limits as it allows you to know & respect them more deeply.

3. **Make it into a Game:** Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent 3-Minute Game can be played with 2 or more partners by taking turns asking each other these two questions: “How do you want me to touch you for 3 minutes?” and “How do you want to touch me for 3 minutes?” Discuss and come to a verbal agreement and take turns giving and receiving.

4. **Use S€nsual Language:** Incorporate s€nsual language and agreed upon touch during consent conversations, making them feel more int!mate and connected rather than clinical or detached.

5. **Express & Encourage Explicit D€sires:** Expressing explicit d€sires can be edgy, but when it’s done in a judgement free space it’s downright hot 🔥 Make an agreement with your partner to never yuck the other’s yum. Expressing enthusiasm for each other’s pl€asure while communicating your limits can make consent conversations feel more emotionally safe, s€ductive and enticing.

By integrating these elements, consent conversations can become a natural and even ar0using part of s€xual interactions, rather than a mood-breaking interruption.

Our facilitator Selene Rising (@bleedingkey) will cover this and so much more at the Conscious Consent & Desire workshop @awakensensuality retreats this summer.

This is just one of many offerings happening in a safe, conscious community.

Are you c*mming?

Is a retreat like @awakensensuality safe for me?

How can I avoid unwanted advances and unnecessary triggers while exploring my s*nsual and s*xual edges in community?

Meet Awaken retreat facilitator, James Bell (@jamesbellconsulting) who speaks on our approach to safety, consent, and boundaries.

First of all we keep our retreat small to max 40 people, screening all attendees with an application form and checking their community ties so a sense of trust is established from the get go.

We also check for any issues you may be currently navigating to ensure Awaken is a fit at this time.

There is only one mandatory workshop and that is Conscious Consent & Desire with Selene Rising (@bleedingkey) who is a trauma-informed s*x therapist who trained with @drbettymartin on the Wheel of Consent.

This is where we will establish the foundational framework of collaborative consent, and support you with the skills and vocabulary you’ll need to help you feel into your desire, ask for what you want, and feel empowered to answer from your authentic Yes or No, while celebrating the authentic Yes or No from another.

The facilitators are all trauma-informed, and safe consensual exploration is our primary commitment to making this a positive experience for all.

While we strive to be trauma-informed as a leadership team, trauma is not our primary focus.

If you apply to attend Awaken, it’s important to understand that this retreat is not therapy. If you are still primarily in a trauma focused place of healing, Awaken may not (yet) be a good fit for you.

Our offerings are intended for those who are able to turn towards the possibility of attuned playfulness and have basic skills in self-soothing when activated.

During your time at Awaken we encourage you to take breaks for self-care, reach out for support from a facilitator when needed, and celebrate when others do the same.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding safety, boundaries, and consent, feel free to reach out to our facilitators @jamesbellconsulting or @bleedingkey (or DM us here) and we’ll do our best to answer you.
