World Mental Health Day 💚

Today, we want to say thank you.

When we started Mental Reset, we had a simple goal. To create a space where people could share their experiences openly, without judgement, without stigma and without feeling they had to pretend everything was okay.

What we didn’t anticipate was just how many incredible people would trust us with their stories.

Every face in these pictures has a story.

Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Different struggles. But one thing in common: the courage to be vulnerable, in the hope that their experience might help somebody else.

We’ve heard stories of addiction, grief, trauma, eating disorders, mental illness, recovery, resilience and everything in between.

Some conversations have been difficult. Some have been emotional. Others have been full of laughter and hope. But every single one has reminded us why we started.

You never know who might be listening, who might recognise themselves in your story, or who might feel a little less alone because you chose to share it.

To every guest who has joined us, thank you for your honesty, your trust and your willingness to have conversations that aren’t always easy.

And to everyone who has watched, listened, shared an episode or reached out to tell us that something resonated, thank you too.

Mental Reset was never about having all the answers. It was about bringing people together, listening without judgement and reminding people that they matter.

On World Mental Health Day, our message is the same as it was on day one.

Your story matters. Your mental health matters. And you are never alone in what you’re going through.

From both of us, thank you for being part of Mental Reset. 💚

Ryan & James

Eight conversations. Eight completely different stories.

These aren’t necessarily the biggest moments from each episode. They’re the ideas that stayed with us after the cameras stopped rolling.

The things we’ve found ourselves thinking about, talking about and applying to our own lives.

Here are 8 lessons we’ll never forget. 👉🏻

Sometimes we convince ourselves things need to get really bad before we’re allowed to change them.

Lewis challenged that.

You don’t need to lose everything before you decide something isn’t working. You can recognise the warning signs, make a different choice and start rebuilding before you ever reach rock bottom.

COMMENT “LEWIS” FOR THE FULL EPISODE.

There’s an important difference between understanding yourself and excusing yourself.

For Dean, diagnosis provided answers. It helped make sense of things he’d spent years trying to understand.

But perhaps the biggest lesson was what you do with those answers.

Understanding why you think, feel or behave a certain way doesn’t remove responsibility. It gives you more information to work with.

COMMENT “DEAN” FOR THE FULL EPISODE.

We spend so much of our lives trying not to feel.

We distract ourselves. Numb ourselves. Keep ourselves busy. Anything to avoid sitting with the uncomfortable stuff.

Luke’s story was a reminder that the emotions we keep running from usually have something to tell us.

Sometimes you have to feel it to understand it. And understand it before you can begin to heal it.

COMMENT “LUKE” FOR THE FULL EPISODE

Purpose doesn’t always come from finding some huge mission.

Sometimes it’s much simpler than that.

It comes from connection. From being part of something bigger than yourself. From genuinely caring about other people and knowing your presence has an impact on their lives.

Our conversation with James completely reframed the way we think about purpose.

COMMENT “JAMES” FOR THE FULL EPISODE

A thought can feel terrifying without saying anything about who you actually are.

That distinction became incredibly powerful during our conversation with Dan about OCD

Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting the Alfred East Art Gallery to sit down with Billie and Adam and begin the incredibly difficult task of reviewing all of the artwork submissions for our Outdoor Walking Gallery.

We were absolutely blown away by the talent on display. From paintings and illustrations to photography and mixed media pieces, every submission brought something unique and inspiring to the table. It was fantastic to see so much creativity from artists across the Kettering community.

Choosing just 25 artists from such a strong collection of entries was no easy task. We spent hours carefully looking through each piece, discussing the stories behind the artwork and considering how they would come together as part of this exciting outdoor exhibition.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to submit their work. The standard was incredibly high, and we are so grateful for the enthusiasm and support this project has already received.

We would also like to say a special thank you to Billie and Adam for giving up their time to work through the submissions with us. We know how incredibly busy they are as the team works hard behind the scenes to prepare for the reopening of the Alfred East Art Gallery later this summer, so we really appreciate their support and expertise.

If your artwork wasn’t selected this time, please don’t be discouraged. The quality of submissions made the decision incredibly difficult, and there were far more pieces we loved than spaces available. This is just the beginning, and there will be plenty more opportunities to get involved in future community art projects across Kettering.

We cannot wait to share the final selection with you and bring even more art, creativity and culture into the heart of Kettering.

With thanks to @ketteringtowncouncil for helping fund this community project

In times like these
movement becomes a way through ✨

Not to escape the chaos
but to meet it in the body

To let it move, shift, breathe
we don’t have to do it alone
we dance it together 💛

Still feeling so much gratitude for Sunday morning with @jamesgarside for the music, and for all of you who showed up and made the space what it is
this community is something really special ✨

Team Brotherhood representing at Kettering Park Run this morning. One thing we’ve been prioritising this year is support and accountability to help each other achieve our goals. Men need purpose and something to aim towards - it doesn’t really matter what, but seeing progress towards an outcome that’s meaningful is a hugely important anchor to stabilise your mental health. Not to mention getting out in @wicksteedpark in the sunshine - perfect start to the weekend ☀️
