Sunshine & Rain 🌦️started with a belief that sharing our stories can help someone else feel less alone. This day felt like that belief coming to life.

Thank you LaKeisha and Bridgid (@the.blackbird.house ) for inviting me to host a @sunshineandrainpodcast fireside conversation, and @elainewelteroth and @jonathansingletary for sharing so openly about love, healing, family and the power of care. Our conversation took us through their journey together🫶🏾, the grief that led to the creation of Piano & Prayer 🙏🏾, Elaine’s birthing experience, and the importance of women knowing the options available to them, including midwifery and doula care ✨.

And to every friend who showed up with love, thank you.

Long before Caviar Dream existed, Martha’s Vineyard was one of our Founder’s dream destinations.

From August 10–21, you’ll find us popping up at some of the island’s favorite parties, shops, and community events, hosting Cavi 101 classes, catering private gatherings, and sharing caviar with curious first-timers, longtime Dreamers, and everyone in between.

My Brush with Greatness: In celebration of Women’s History Month, I would like to shout-out a few iconic women this month who had a profound impact on my professional development and career. In the mid-eighties, I worked with Supermodel Beverly Johnson @iambeverlyjohnson as her assistant. Most people still don’t know that part of my life and career. It was way before my stint at ABC Network (then Capital Cities) and then later the start of my career in the music/recording industry.

I learned so much working with Beverly and helping to plan her A-list dinner parties and doing the normal duties of an assistant. That’s also where I met many of New York City’s socialites, who many were friends and business associates of Beverly. I was so young then but I remember meeting Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat (there’s a photo of Beverly and Basquiat at Mr. Chow’s in New York, thanks for the photo Jimmy Hester @jameshester7), Halston, Francesco Sanchez, Kenneth Cole, Willi Smith (WilliWear), Patrick Kelly, Christie Brinkley, Keith Haring, Tina Chow, Francesco Scavullo, Richard Avedon and so many others.

Several years later when I started working at ABC, I couldn’t believe that was my professional introduction to the world of fashion, beauty and entertainment.

Beverly was not only a boss; she’s a friend, too! Thank you, Beverly. (Fun Fact: Did you know that Beverly Johnson was signed to Clive Davis’ Arista Records)?
