There are not many words that can encapsulate the loss that our community feels after losing Amy. She was an integral part of the @noiserevolt team and a true leader in the OC art community especially @location1980

That is one thing that Amy taught me even after she no longer resided in her physical body: presence is key.

I have thought about her and her family daily since I found out earlier on this month. It is truly heartbreaking. The saying goes, "grief is love with nowhere to go" so I'm going to continue to put my love into creating community and art, just like she loved to do.

I last saw Amy in person in January live painting at moon tribe. New Year's Day. We hung out for a little bit and as she was leaving I helped carve a path through the packed crowd to help her get her stuff to her car. We said we would get together again soon and she texted me to thank me after, tagging me in a story that I will now never see. She always recognized the greatness in people and she was sure to tell them.

I grieve what could have been between us. I grieve the moments that were instead missed connections over 9 years. Looking back thru 2 years of texts it was often us inviting each other to things that we ultimately couldn't attend and never forming concrete plans, seeing each other in passing at parties and events, us always grateful for the fleeting moment to drop in and go deep when it flowed. That's the artists in us.

I have felt Amy's presence in the quiet in between moments...the gentle sounds of leaves blowing in the breeze, birds singing, children laughing, in the sounds of stillness. I am reminded to hold those I love closer, to take action by setting plans & showing up in full presence, and most of all that life is incredibly brief & fragile.

As I sit and write this reflecting on the beauty Amy brought into this world both physically through creating art and community and intangibly through her presence, I cry for her, for her family, and for our community.

❤️❤️❤️❤️She will be missed dearly.❤️❤️❤️❤️

note : The song choice is from one of Amy's reels of her making "Amy Blue" paint. The lyric "There is beauty in the breakdown" has always stuck with m

$I was interested in fractal branching in nature - tree branches, arteries, aerial photos of rivers etc…and wanting more irregular forms with light. I went for a neural inspired design. Credit to other lead artists @hikedanakian the software wiz and @jameson.hubbs who’s vibroacoustic “bass floor” you lie on transforms the experience to another level (you can hear it vibrating in the second slide). @myvanillatictac and derek chow for build and vibes. @toefoodmusic always on hand to help with audio and @synaesthesia_collective for supporting. Also @haldean for the ever-present tour de force pattern Awaken.$
