Happy First Birthday to Green’s Gallery! We’ve compiled a little round up of local artists and visitors enjoying this very special spot in Dulwich Village. It’s become a favourite place for kids, adults and even dogs (!) to come and appreciate a wide range of art. Also somewhere young and new artists can begin their exhibiting journey.

Thank you Mary Fraser and your family and friends for making the gallery such a warm and welcoming place for us all to enjoy.

Roll on year two which kicks off with “Artwalls”: nine artists curating the gallery from 6th to 17th November.

It’s been six months since the biggest anti-racist march in British history.

A day of hope, joy and beauty, captured by @jamesoses 🖌️

💚 Marching protesters in a colorful watercolor illustration holding placards opposing the far right—slogans read "We've been here before," "Stop the far right," and "Women against the far right," conveying solidarity and resistance.

Settling in with this book the past few nights has been an utterly cozy pleasure. It's fascinating to picture each writer committing to rituals and routines, sipping sherry at a certain time (Angelou) or gazing out a window onto the gardens and apple orchard (Chekhov).

It's caused me to imagine my own writing space, my own room, which, so far, I have "decorated" in quite a bland, practical way. I only just occurred to me, reading this book, that the room is MINE, and I can make it whatever I want, which is the most delicious idea.

Thank you to Maile for this wonderful birthday gift!

Artists James Oses and Joe Thomas are not just exhibiting at Green’s Gallery, they’ll be doing live painting over the weekend and early next week too!

Do come along to Going Places - a theme they’ve both embraced and interpreted in their own different styles. You may even recognise some scenes from the local area! 👀

Bring along a picture of your favourite outdoor space and Joe will create a fast study for you (he’ll be there Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday) for a very moderate £30.

Green’s Gallery, 31 Dulwich Village, SE21
Open:
Mon-Sat 9-5.30
Sun 11-4

Meanwhile here’s last night’s lively launch party!
