Back in the early spring I won a contest for a 30 minutes private lesson with a teacher of my choice at @jamhopsdanceco. Naturally I picked @erinantillatalent we just had to work around my forever busy schedule. Last week it finally worked out and I learned this cute little musical theater combo.

Since this song is trending these days. I had to go find this throwback video. Lil Syd trying to do HipHop to work herself up to Ms. Tina’s classes. Ms Alix worked with her hard that year to get the basics of this style down. Since at the time it was so confusing to her because so different than jazz and ballet. (The girl is trying to do hiphop in cheer shoes. We were clueless back then.) Took a few years, but eventually Ms. Tina turned her into a HipHop dancer. It is fun to see how far she has come in this style since that rec class. This is also where she developed her friendship with Madison (@madison.is.very.cool_ ) who still comes to watch the recitals every year. These days they bond more over theater. She makes a cameo at the very end. 🖤

-Revenge party got a Platinum, also in intermediate rather than novice!
-Stella got 18th overall and Platinum in a super competitive senior category
-Morgan and Valerie got Platinum on duet
-Onyx got Platinum on her MT solo
-Morgan got Platinum on solo
-Lovely Day got Platinum

Fun little quick combo I learned on Friday at the end of my private lesson. Thank you @emmaleeodance for teaching it to me along with working on my ballet and acro too.

Our second competition of the year was Inferno! 🔥 (the competition where most of my costumes accidentally matched the background)

Some highlights:
-Brooklyn got platinum and second overall, super big win for her 1st year solo! 🙌
-Teen/Senior Nov Musical Theatre got Platinum and had lots of improvement in facials, which continued to grow throughout the season 🖤
-Morgan & Valerie got Platinum, these girls are so consistent! 🩵
-Stella L. got Elite Platinum and 8th Overall, she’s been killing this difficult “contaporary” style 😍
-Morgan got Platinum on solo, an amazing jump for her from Novice last year! 🙌
-You’re so Vain got High Gold, but made major improvement from the first competition! 🪩
-Lovely Day (not pictured due to rush) got Platinum, one of their best performances of the season! 💛
-Positoovity got High Gold, but saw major improvements in timing and facials, which continued to grow the rest of the season! 🧜‍♀️
-Stella B. got Elite Platinum and 1st Overall! What a huge win for a 1st year soloist! 💚

Sometimes the February-June cleaning stretch can feel long… but the payoff is so worth it… 🤩🥹

Check out these videos of dancer Stella B. dancing between just 4 months and see:

-Increased confidence (and therefore increased facials) ✨
-More “in the pocket” timing 🪩
-Increased Spacial Awareness 🙌
-Dancing with full body (levels and arms) 👏

Although this year didn’t go as expected, I still made the most of it. Thank you to everyone who has stayed by my side during my recovery. I am so incredibly grateful I was placed on a team with so many amazing friends. Some things may come as a surprise, but it is important you keep a positive attitude. This year I was able to step into a leadership role and help so many teammates. I am so thankful for everyone this season and I can’t wait to see what next year brings.

25-26 season complete🥹🎩

i am so proud of us for getting into grand nationals and winning 3rd overall for “my way”! this year has been one of the most challenging, but by far my most favorite and rewarding season i have ever had. the friendships and bonds i have made are indescribable and i am so immensely grateful for my team and everyone one at jamhops. while the next road in my dance journey is unclear due to my hip injury and the possibility of not being able to dance again, a thing i know for sure is my #jamily will forever be my 2nd home and always will have the biggest place in my heart. 🤍
