A little Inspiration for your Something Blue...💙

This sweet wedding tradition dates back to an English rhyme from around 1876:

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe.”

But blue was meaningful long before that. Ancient Romans associated the colour with love, modesty, and fidelity, while folklore believed it could help deflect the evil eye and protect the bride from negative energy.

Traditionally, a bride’s “something blue” was a garter tucked discreetly beneath her dress. Today, it might be embroidered initials, delicate shoes, a ribbon around the bouquet, a sentimental piece of jewellery, or one beautifully unexpected detail woven into the day.

A little tradition. A little protection. And a lovely pop of colour!

What was (or will be) your something blue? Share yours in the comments!

Summer dump. ♥️

Doing my favourite thing. Dreamy things for @erinboniferro. My boy is 13 and has the cutest crew I could ever hope for. Made Italian snacks for 50 people and loved every minute. Girls. I bring flowers wherever I go. Beers with my beloved Char and Becks. Couple of chicks. Peonies bigger than my head. The old gang back together under the cherry tree. Celebrating my girl. Having @michaela.evanow for the weekend and my home looking like a 90’s romcom. Janz reunion and my home filled to the brim. @jamiedelaine catching magic. A week of bliss with @hollygal at Keats. My girl. Taking care.

Every place setting tells a piece of the story ✨

From the linens and florals to the carefully chosen details, a thoughtfully designed tablescape transforms a reception space into an experience. The kind that invites guests to linger a little longer, raise another toast, and fully immerse themselves in the celebration.

Enjoy these tabletop design elements from Simmrin and John’s beautiful Brock House wedding… they had us swooning over those baby blue fringed napkins!

Congratulations to Rachel & Gray on their stunning wedding at @the_teahouse in Stanley Park on June 7th, 2026 ✨

This day was such a beautiful reflection of their love, surrounded by the people who matter most.

Thank you so much to Rachel and Gray for trusting me with your floral vision and allowing me to bring it to life. It was an absolute joy working alongside your loved ones and being part of creating a space where you could slow down, be present, and truly soak in every moment of your day.

And a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team who helped bring everything together — your support and talent made it all possible.

Marie-Claire + Vincenzo became husband + wife this past weekend and I was so grateful to be there. 💕 The couple drove to their ceremony and walked down the aisle as a pair, which was really sweet. After the ceremony, MC + Vincenzo exited the church to all their guests waving ribbon wands. It was so celebratory and cute!

The Belgard Kitchen reception was a total joy! It’s one of my *favourite* venues in all of Vancouver, and being back there reminded me why that’s still the case :) The room was full of candles, jazz music, mingle guests, lots of food and drinks and personalized touches (including a cocktail crossword puzzle and a temporary tattoo station that the *many* kids at the reception loved.)

To Marie-Claire and Vincenzo, thank you so much for having me. ✨ Can’t wait to share more photos with you soon!

PS. Our story (Marie-Claire and I) began *14 years ago* at her friend Sophia’s wedding. Marie-Claire was one of Sophia’s bridesmaids and I was the photographer! What an honour for MC to remember my work all these years later and have me as her photographer too. Thank you, thank you!

Caitlin and Jeff’s story begins back in university! They crossed paths in their third year when Jeffrey showed up to class wearing a t-shirt from the high school Caitlin’s dad went to—a detail that sparked their very first conversation. :)

Almost a decade later, it was a privilege to be their wedding photographer on May 9 as they became husband and wife! 💕
