🇧🇴 Uyuni Salt Flats — Bolivia 🧂🏔️🚙✨

The largest salt flat in the world, stretching over 4,050 square miles and sitting nearly 12,000 ft above sea level.

We started in Uyuni and traveled to the town of Colchani, where we learned how the salt is harvested and turned into everything from table salt and bath salts to bricks used for construction.

From there, we ventured deep into the salt flats, surrounded by mesmerizing views in every direction. The reflection off the salt is so intense you need to wear sunglasses the entire time.

We visited during the dry season, so unfortunately we missed the famous mirror effect — but honestly, the endless white landscape was still just as surreal.

In the middle of the Salar is Incahuasi Island, covered in thousands of giant saguaro-like cacti, some estimated to be over 1,000 years old. 🌵

And then… our car broke down. 😂🤪

What could’ve been a stressful situation turned into one of the most memorable parts of the trip. We opened some wine, watched the sun set over the salt flats, and ended up experiencing Incahuasi after dark — something most visitors never get to see.

With almost no light pollution, the night sky was absolutely insane.

Unlucky enough to break down… but lucky enough to experience the Salar in a way we never would have otherwise.

I Conquered the Death Road in La Paz, Bolivia 🚲🏅🏔️

WOW. What an experience. 🤯

55km of all downhill — starting at 4,700 meters in the snow-capped mountains and descending all the way down to 1,200 meters through the jungle.

We started out on the road for about 20km before hitting the rocky terrain, weaving past landslides, riding under waterfalls, and navigating some seriously wild terrain. 🌿💦

And because that apparently wasn’t enough adrenaline, we took a quick break for my first-ever zip line through the jungle. 🤓

Huge thank you to @jammertron for getting me on board for this. I probably would have passed up the opportunity, and I never would have guessed this would end up being one of my favorite adventures of the trip so far.

Hours of fun, Memories for a lifetime. 🇧🇴❤️

Analog Spring 2026: we’re out here soaking up vitamin D like it’s free (it is), living life offline, and enjoying the finer things in life (like snorkeling, crashing teenage dance parties, and learning to skateboard in the plaza like the hoodlums that we are). Long live our youth 🤘🏽

Sayulita is more than a day in the news.

We are a small, tight-knit community built on creativity, resilience, culture, and deep connection. Over the past 24 hours, we witnessed swift coordination and response from local and federal authorities, and we are grateful for the care taken to protect this region. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us.

We know many of you have seen videos and reports about unrest in Jalisco and surrounding areas. From here on the ground: Casa Oleada is safe. Sayulita is calm. The situation stabilized quickly, and there have been no reported civilian casualties.

The events were targeted and tied to a specific security operation. They were not random acts directed at residents or visitors. That distinction matters.

As always, we are closely monitoring official updates and staying in direct communication with our local community.

Mexico is not defined by moments like this. It is defined by its people. By families going to work. By small businesses opening their doors. By neighbors checking in on one another.

At Casa Oleada, we choose steadiness over fear and perspective over sensationalism. We will continue to lead with clarity, care, and love for this community we call home.

2025 Designer Feature @florafaunaypaz

Notes from the Designer:

This event merges my favorite creative outlets:
1. Creating a “character like” look with my day to day outfits and 2. Creating by transmuting whatever treasures I find in the trash (I like to call them trashures) and 3. Sewing bizarre things.
For this year, I had rescued lots of great quality sheets, discarded for being eaten by rats. Found some manequin chests on a garbage pile and had just cut my bangs for the first time ever by the amazing Jamie.
With this in mind, I envisioned some sort of dramatic looking fictional character; androgynous, animal-ish, post apocalyptic but sophisticated, badass kinda creature.

I chose the “male” chest instead of the “femenine” one, placed a fabric ribcage on top for the corset.
Made a long dramatic draped train for the skirt, puffed sleeves, and burning man kinda goggles made out of toilet paper cartons.
I made an “exposed spine and tail” with egg cartons that attached seamlessly to my back with the corset lace.

I was lucky to sit at Jamie’s chair again for hair. She did a wild up do and put some gold in my bangs.
As I was waiting to get my makeup done, I felt in my bones that George was gonna nail the exact look I was going for and she totally did! The dramatic black splatter around my eyes tied the whole look together for an amazing result!
