This Sunday, The Mantis Shrimp Eye Orchestra performs inside Sarah Pedinotti’s immersive installation Youngworld: The Mantis Shrimp Matrix @saratogaarts

Live improvisation by an all-ages group of 16 musicians each representing the photoreceptors inside the mantis shrimp’s eye. Mantis shrimp have 16 photoreceptors, humans have 3. They see a world of color, UV, and polarized light we can’t even imagine. Now imagine translating that into sound.

Featuring an artist talk with Sarah Pedinotti and a science talk with Dr. Kate Feller, Professor of Biology at Union College, on the extraordinary visual system of the mantis shrimp
