POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A few months ago, I had the chance to contribute to this beautiful book, alongside the work of talented friends and colleagues, reflecting on some of the theoretical foundations of the pedagogical experiments I’ve been lucky enough to develop at HEAD – Genève over the last few years. Thank you once again to @javier.fdezco for the invitation!

A book by Javier Fernández Contreras, Youri Kravtchenko, Julie Enckell Julliard (eds.)

NOTHING ABOUT INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE
Javier F. Contreras, Youri Kravtchenko, Julie Enckell, eds. (Set Margins, 2025)

Often dissident, sometimes adherent, Nothing About is, in essence, indefinable because it is adaptive and fluid. Speculative or hands-on, this discipline – if we can call it that – displays all the ambivalences of our contemporary lifestyles: superficial and profound, profane and divine, present everywhere and nowhere, and often regarded as futile, even though it could nonetheless destroy the most beautiful of insides. This book brings together a variety of intellectual tools and insights – polysemic and ambiguous, bespoke and improvised, ornamental and criminal, spanning media, technology, the arts and other, often undefined fields – that analyze the impact of the discipline on contemporary design. In the end, what makes Nothing About charming is that this inside – insofar as it is still defined as such – has only the humble ambition of accompanying beings, both animate and inanimate, within their environment, like a friend who is never far away.

Contributions from: Camille Bagnoud, Ahmed Belkhodja, Javier F. Contreras, Valentina De Luigi, Valentin Dubois, David Fagart, Line Fontana, Jan D. Geipel, Jean-Pierre Greff, Simon Husslein, Youri Kravtchenko, Paule Perron, Philippe Rahm, Vera Sacchetti, Leonid Slonimskiy, Bertrand Van Dorp, Roberto Zancan, Daniel Zamarbide, and students at HEAD — Genève.

Magnificent title, diary, insights, impetus:

'Poetry is growing in your garden.
Thoughts on wine-making and wine-drinking'.

Former Danish @nomacph sommelier Anders Frederik Steen @anders.frederik.steen turned viniculteur / natural winemaker.
564 pages comprising a selection of 8 years of daily notes on:

Starting over (in France), beginning new chapters and adventures, cultivating new skills, nurturing self-confidence, resisting fast-paced quickly-gone trends, perseverance, creating, cultivating, constantly improving authentic wines, young versus old, young and old, new futures, new tastes.

Great !

Unsere Nething Akademie...

Direction d’atelier : Claudio Colucci, Jan Geipel / Assistanat : Wendy Gaze

Étudiant.e.x.s : Victor Duterme, Saraa Karvonen, Asensio Kishan, Mounira Mokhtar

USM X HEAD - A BREATHING GRID
Workshop : Gaspar Reverdin / Assistanat : Cohann Rémy (Alumnis HEAD)
Genève, Novembre 2016

Concept des vases : Mélanie Maulaz / Alumni HEAD / Workshop 2015 at the HEAD «Celebrating USM with Teo Jakob»

Etudiant.e.x.s : Alice Bardou, Sophie Berardo, Maxime Cerutti, Dany Champion, Jessica Dubochet, Valentin Dubois, Cecile Dutoit, Lara Grandchamp, Amélie de Keuwer, Armend Krasniqi, An

BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND FURNITURE
