I really loved THE BREAKS by @planningtorock when it came out. It felt like Kate Bush meets Malcolm McLaren’s Madam Butterfly — don’t you think?

Turning it into a full string, horn, and vocal-forward track was a beautiful challenge.

Huge thanks to all the incredible musicians who made this happen.

Looking for a weekend read? The final publication of our previous research project, AURORA XR School for Artists, is now available to download!

It presents the three innovative XR cultural projects we developed collaboratively with our artistic fellows from 2023–25:

𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑯𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 by Martin Binder @bindermartin_art
An interactive WebAR experience about hostile design in public space.

𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆 – 𝑨 𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 by Jens Isensee @jooooooki
A mixed-reality application addressing the climate crisis.

𝑷𝒉𝒚𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒚 by Lisa Kaschubat, Tasha Hess-Neustadt, and Jane Arnison @lisakaschubat @tashamhn @janearnison
A multiplayer mixed-reality performance about togetherness and care.

For each project, the publication brings together insights into the underlying research question, the artistic and technical implementation, and the results.

And of course, full credit to the AURORA team: Maja Stark @majastarkberlin Leonid Barsht @leonid_xr Julian Knepel @jk_jkay Dagmar Schürrer @dagschu

The publication is available to download as a PDF in both German and English via the link in bio. Enjoy!

… come hungry

This evening brings together two distinctly different sonic worlds: Jane Arnison, Berlin-based Australian sound artist and composer, builds immersive environments through modular synthesis and spatial sound — where listening becomes something felt as much as heard. Granitaur (Massimiliano Cerioni) moves into density and weight: didgeridoo, guitars, and feedback systems slowly accrete into heavy, resonant structures that sit somewhere between minimalism, drone, and noise.
In between of those two acts:
Sophie Watzlawick
where night falls a thud . unlimited interlude
An invisible off-screen disaster leading to a musical interlude in dark matter.

Sophie Watzlawick (16mm Film & Concept)
Guillaume Cailleau (interlude . Machines)
