Candidate for US Congress FL 26 Nicole Locklin
@locklin2026
I’m not a career politician or a corporate Democrat. Just six months ago, I was a lead attorney at an AI company, Databricks, with no intentions of entering politics. But when I looked around, I saw my neighbors suffering.

In my district, which is 74% Hispanic, we have a significant Venezuelan and Cuban population. It’s heartbreaking to see families being rounded up and detained without access to basic needs like food, water, or legal representation.

This isn’t just a political issue; it’s a human rights crisis. We need to stand up for our communities and demand change.

Let’s talk about how we can make a difference together!

Does showing up in Black communities automatically translate to Black voter support? 👀

On the Can We Talk Podcast powered by Hy-Lo News, host Janey Tate weighs in on Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds and whether his appearances throughout South Florida are translating into votes from Black residents.

Janey shares her perspective on why name recognition and being present in the community may not be enough to win voters over, pointing to concerns some residents have raised about Donalds’ past statements and voting record. She also references an NBC 6 South Florida poll discussed during the episode.

So, how much does a candidate’s presence in the community matter when voters are also weighing their record and policy positions?

🎙️ Head to YouTube to hear the complete conversation!

Why do so many in the black community feel disconnected from the Republican Party? 🤔

Drop a comment let us know your thoughts

Our conversation with Congressman Byron Donalds, we dive deep into the hurdles that many black conservatives face. It's not just about policies; it's about the perception of racism and discrimination that has created a barrier.

We discuss the controversial DEI policies and how they often miss the mark. Instead of focusing on talent and ability, they sometimes prioritize quotas, which can undermine true diversity.

What we need is a society that empowers everyone to build their skills and talents, removing roadblocks to success. Let's have these important conversations and bridge the gap!

Should elected officials be invited to speak at church, especially during election season? 👀

On the Can We Talk Podcast powered by Hy-Lo News, Opa-locka City Commission candidate and ordained minister Brian Dennis shares why he has a problem with politicians showing up at churches only when it’s time to ask for votes.

Dennis argues that elected officials should be present and engaged in the community year-round, not just every two to four years when elections roll around. He also draws a distinction between politicians who consistently show up for residents and those who only make appearances during campaign season.

But does keeping politics out of the pulpit present missed opportunities?

🎙️ Head to YouTube to watch the full episode to hear host Janey Tate’s response to Dennis’ take, get the full conversation on faith and politics, and learn more about Dennis' campaign for Opa-locka City Commission.

Some campaigns tend to slander their opponents.
Then there are those who choose to run on their record, what they’ve done, the lives they’ve impacted and the advancement they plan on making.

Thank you @janeytate for highlighting my approach of remaining calm through the storm & the platform you both @papa_keith has created is necessary. The invite is appreciated. It felt like we were talking in the living room @the.cospace

Thank you all for your support! Next, PUNCH #93 🧡
