⭐️Hello Everyone!⭐️

I'm back with a part 2 to the "Author Toolkit" post!
Except these ones were suggested by YOU! (or, at least, if you commented on the last post they are 😆)

As an author, you can never have too many "tools" at your disposal!

I'm not familiar with a few of these apps, but I've tagged the people who commented their suggestions/what they use, so if you have any questions, I'd definitely recommend reaching out to them! (they're all incredibly kind! 🫶)

⬇️ Keep the suggestions coming, and maybe they'll be a part 3! 👀 ⬇️

Clandestine by Sera Amoroso ✨⚙️

series: The Makria Cycle #2
genre: science fiction
format: e-arc
pages: 361
times read: 1
date (dd/mm/yy): 31/3/24-7/4/24
would reread: probs
rating: 4⭐

review:
Thank you Sera for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review

after having orchestrated the downfall of Leroy Parkes, the Torsion Gang (Astra tbh), is left to run the school but shit hits the fan when Astra needs to get her tech back from Leroy's cousin, Clay, so she sends her brother Xavier undercover.

Clandestine felt completely different from Torsion and the reason why is the fact that Sera's writing improved a lot. Where in Torsion there was more dialogue and less setting, in Clandestine there's equal parts dialogue and setting. Sera also did something that made me connect with the characters in Clandestine cs in Torsion I only REALLY vibed w/ Astra, Aiken and Zola but here the opposite happened tbh, I sort of started liking the other characters but Aiken and Astra felt weird and Aiken isn't MY character anymore :/. Xavi (Xavier), Cassie (Cassidy), Vee (Yvette), Isaac and Tessie (Tessa) are my babies now, like aaaaagh love them sm.

Aiken crossing it to the other side was smth I wasn't expecting tbh, like, I actually liked Alejo and Aiken going Jaime Lannister on him felt rlly off.

I stopped vibing with Astra the moment she said she'd kill Xavier if he failed like, girl you're saying you'd kill your brother if he failed to retrieve smth when it wasn't his fault it was stolen from you? nuh-uh, bad astra *sprays water*

I'm legit more interested in learning more abt Tess than I am abt Astra (still want to know abt her but not as much) like, finding out she was also an alien but not an Ara'cel had me like 😮. The fact that Ares was an Ara'cel rlly caught me by surprise, I mean, we didn't know much abt the man but still, I wasn't expecting it.

I like X sm dfnsdjf, he reminds me of Spencer Reid, Dean Redding and Cassie Hobbs all in one character. I love the way his brain works and I want to kidnap him for myself. also Isaac is so dsafhdjf love him sm

I hope we have an apology scene from Astra to the gang in book 3 (the title is amazing)

⭐Hello Everyone!⭐

Happy Indie Author's Day!

Honestly, I had no idea this was today until I was tagged by the amazing @amandasloothaak
So, I'm sharing the love!

⭐Above (on the picture), I've tagged some of the most inspiring and supportive people I've met on this little corner of the internet (and one I've *actually* met in real life! Looking at you @kgrymes.writes 😆)⭐

❤️❤️Please, check them out and support them. They deserve it all! ❤️❤️

And, obviously, I've got to mention myself, too (hehe 😉)

✨My second novel, The Cosmic Divide is set to release in early 2024! It picks up where book one left off and features love, loss, and everything in between! (not to mention a nefarious organization that may or may not be well known for hiding the existence of extraterrestrials 😱👽)✨

✨And my debut novel—following the story of a reckless spaceship captain who is suddenly thrust into a world of royalty and politics—The Cosmic Principle, is available EVERYWHERE books are sold!
So grab your copy now and catch up before book two's release! (P.S., it's a two-time award-winner! 🥈🥉)✨

Sing Me To Sleep - Gabi Burton

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫

Now if you know me, fantasy isn't one of my go-to/comfort genres, so I wasn't sure how I would find this one. But let me tell you, it DELIVERED!

I read most of this from my sick bed and I had such a good time. Fantasy can be overwhelming for me sometimes but the plot for this one is really accessible without feeling basic. It had my full attention and I enjoyed many 'just one more chapter' moments because I couldn't wait to know what happened next.

I read this as part of a buddy read and some people in the group read a lot of fantasy so I was curious if they would have a different experience with it. Turns out, pretty much everyone loved it so I feel reassured recommending this to everyone! Especially people who want to try getting into fantasy. I've tagged the buddy readers so you can check out their reviews too.

And so, the long wait for the second book has begun. I'm even looking forward to re-reading this one someday soon and I don't say that for many books.

>>> Swipe to see an illustration of our saucy siren main character, Saoirse. If you squint and use your imagination, she kinda looks just like me 🤪

Thank you @hodderscape @readeatretreat for the book, book event invite & readalong goodies 💌

READERS: I need your help! I’m thinking of doing an author’s note in the current novel I’m working on.
.
My question to you is, would you find it helpful to have a short author’s note explaining the main character’s vision impairment and how it affects the descriptions in the book? Or do you feel it’s not necessary? Please let me know in the comments below. 👇🏻
.
I’m thinking about doing this because it’s been difficult not to give details or describe certain things as I write. I want to properly portray the main character, though, and with her vision, she can’t give as detailed descriptions as a sighted main character.
.
After chatting with my CP @jsrobertswrites I think I’ve found a way to make it work, though. Thanks, Jennifer, you’re such an amazing CP! :) But I thought an author’s note also might be helpful. What do you think?
