Never done one of these, so… AUGUST 2025 PHOTO DUMP.

Quick trip to Newcastle for the Sela Cup matches (and maybe teased a new signing before it was officially announced), met new friends and old that weekend, took a train to reconnect with the Beatons in Edinburgh, back home to Marina in time for the start of the Premier League 25/26 season and the 1st PL Morning, dropped off Elli so she could fly to NJ to start her junior year of college, saw a terrific JBLZE concert at Golden State Theater celebrating 50th Anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Physical Graffiti’, and took in another AWAY MBFC match (another loss).

September is tomorrow. Last month of of a 28-year career and off to pastures new as a retiree — don’t know what those are yet, but stay tuned.

Many thanks to our #MBFCWatchParty regulars for joining us at The Brit in Monterey for yesterday’s Father’s Day away match against North Carolina FC! Not the result we wanted or expected, but an undeserved red card shown to Carlos Guzman for “handball”and a subsequent PK award didn’t help matters at all.

The video replays clearly show the ball touched Guzman’s torso, NOT his hand — remember: VAR isn’t available in USL — so hopefully @montereybayfc can appeal the dismissal once the referee’s report is submitted to the league.

We have to shrug off yesterday’s loss and get ready for next weekend’s doubleheader against Oakland Roots/Project 51O at Cardinale Stadium on 6/22! #BeAGoldfish #OnwardForward

I share the second picture only to show how quickly the Brit emptied out following the EURO24 Serbia vs England match, which ended about 45min before the MBFC game kickoff — and to illustrate how quickly & how many of our MBFC regulars filled the pub! We truly have some of the most loyal fans in the 831 (and our two younger kids deserve credit, too, for wanting to hang with Dad for two matches on a Sunday afternoon)!
