I once heard someone say that โ€œa broken heart never fully mends, but Hashem (G-d) in His kindness, keeps sending light to fill the cracksโ€ Our baby boy is all love and light! A gift from above! Mazal tov to our sweet Yitzy, upon becoming a Bar Mitzvah. From ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ to the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ, Jerusalem to Clifton, these last few weeks have felt like a dream and have been nothing short of Epic. We are truly grateful for each and every moment. We are blessed to have our family and friends and a warm community who consistently show up for us! Special shout out to my brother, Nafi, who lovingly taught Yitzy his Parsha (torah portion). Abba is so darn proud!! P.S. Yitzy knocked it out of the park!! On March 21, 2022, we featured our first Face of Orthodoxy: Batsheva Boehm, a lawyer, marathon runner, wife & mother, & proud Orthodox Jew. She was the first of over 160 individuals weโ€™d feature over the next 3 years. We set out to put a human face on Orthodox Jews, telling their stories one face at a time. We wanted to share the journeys, struggles & triumphs of our everyday heroes of faith. In a time where misrepresentation of Orthodox Jews in the media was everywhere, we aimed to tell the stories of real-life observant Jews, educating the world about who we are & what we believe, while also introducing fellow Jews to the role models in our midst. And as the world shifted post October 7th & Jew-hatred became more public & pronounced, we felt even more emboldened to share our Faces of Orthodoxy with the world. It has been a great honor to tell these beautiful stories & introduce you to these very special individuals from Cleveland, Atlanta, New York, LA, Baltimore, Jerusalem, Chicago, Dallas, South Florida, New Jersey & Toronto. Youโ€™ve told us you have learned from types of people you ordinarily never wouldโ€™ve met, that youโ€™ve been moved by the stories of overcoming challenges, the religious & professional journeys & the humanness of living life trying to do the best we can. Youโ€™ve reached out with a dm or a comment on a post to tell us how much a profile meant to you. And that meant so much to us. To know that these stories were landing somewhere & making a difference to real people behind their screens. Our objective was to empower Orthodox Jews to tell their stories with pride, & we feel that, though there is still much work to be done, weโ€™ve inspired many people to do so. So now, itโ€™s time to say goodbye. We hope you will continue to proudly share your stories. Faces of Orthodoxy is a project of the Orthodox Union & we are so grateful to the OU for supporting this meaningful initiative. And weโ€™re so proud of this space we created on the internet where weโ€™ve celebrated & learned from others.
