Simple things.

One moment and a near-fatal car crash uprooted my entire life.

I could have looked at everything I’d lost and asked, “Why me?”

Instead I asked, “Why me?”

Same two words. Completely different questions. One looks for a reason to stay down. The other looks for the reason it happened for me — and what I was supposed to do with it.

That question led to my decision to open 6ycle and lead people toward a bigger life filled with empowerment, confidence, and strength. That decision led me to a place to meet my husband, and that has become our family with our sweet baby boy. Not because the answer was obvious, but because I was asking something that had an answer worth finding.

The quality of your questions is the quality of your life. Want different outcomes? Ask different questions.

Our cutie nature boy. 🌿

Ashe would live outside if you let him. He walks (or runs) — fast! He loves to watch cars, roll in the grass, climb hills, and play with dirt. He also sits on curbs repeatedly, probably doing about 30 squats per walk 😂.

Our walks give his brain everything it’s hungry for at once: movement, novelty, sensory input, freedom to explore, and endless opportunities to be curious. And this boy is so curious.

These moments have become such a staple of our day. So simple and so beneficial for everyone — exposure to green space has been shown to support mood, attention, physical activity, sleep/circadian rhythms, and stress regulation.

We’ll take it all! 🌱

You may have heard the story of when Jared asked me on our first date — I told him if he came to my spin class, I’d go.

He replied that if I sent him a voice recording asking him in an Australian accent, he would. Hilarious. 😂

What you probably haven’t heard about was our second date. The day we planned to go out, Jared texted me and asked if, instead of going to dinner, I wanted to walk door to door and spread the word about 6ycle.

Fast forward two years, and this business venture — and everything that has come with it — has been ours ever since.

I am grateful for our partnership in every way, in business and in life. But what I’m most grateful for is our shared unwillingness to settle. To stay the same. To stop pushing for more from ourselves, our relationship, our family, and the life we’re building together.

I’m grateful for who we’ve become individually, who we continue to become as partners, and how much we challenge each other to grow. Plus, we laugh non stop.

When we first started dating, Jared gave me Never Finished by @davidgoggins . Inside, he wrote: “We are just getting started.” And 3 years later I have never felt more excited, optimistic, or energized about our future.

Happy Anniversary, baby. Thank you for always showing up.
I love you!

I can’t wait for fall with our little guy 🍁 .

Ashe will be 1 year and 8 months old in September. What are some favorite fall activities with your kiddos at this age?!

The anatomy of a heavy RDL. 👇🏼

Watch Kelsi push 122 lbs for 8 reps to failure while keeping setup and form locked in until the very last rep.

Here is the checklist we used:

The bar starts directly over the middle of the feet to keep the center of gravity stable and avoid pulling through the toes or heels.
Shoulders packed, lats engaged, shoulders tucked down and back to keep the spine locked and prevent rounding under load.

Deep breath and full 360 degree abdominal brace before every drop to protect the lower back.

Keeping a neutral spin by the head following the bar, gaze travels down naturally as the hips hinge back so the neck stays in line with the spine.

We are huge on keeping form strict even when the weights get heavy, and we have a ton of fun in the process 💪🏼

2 Amazing Communities @6yclestudio @f13_performance @resistancestrength
1 Purpose to make and impact

This past weekend F13 Performance, Resistance Strength and 6ycle teamed up in support of PCFLV Family Assistance Fund of Reilly Children’s Hospital. Over the past few month our teams consisting of coaches, members, family and friends set out to raise as much as we could to help support families with children fighting a battle with cancer. Not in my wildest dreams would I ever have expected the result to be as amazing as it was.

A gym should be so much more than a big space and a bunch of expensive equipment. It should be a place where people can take control of their lives and become who they want to become and along the way find others on similar journeys so they can support each other while they chase their goals. This is a community! A community that not only supports each other but a community that wants to make a positive impact on the world around them.

I am humbled and proud to be part of the amazing community at F13 Performance, Resistance Strength and 6ycle. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help with Fit Fest! Thank you to all the Coaches, Members and Families of all 3 facilities. You’re the ones who made this all happen.

I can’t wait to see what we can all do next!

2 gyms. 16 teams. 12 hours. 24 workouts. $35,000+ raised going directly to local families. Electric energy all day long.

This is what a fitness community looks like, and this is only the start of what’s possible when we come together for something bigger than any one of us.

Thank you, FIT | FEST.

Thank you to all of the participants in the event! We simply had the idea, you are all directly responsible for the tremendous impact we made, TOGETHER.
