A small family-run FIVI located in the Aosta Valley, which impressed us with its pure Prie' Blanc, where simplicity and pleasantness of drinking are expressed right from the start, supporting what is represented in the colorful label.

Since 1999 Ermes “makes wine” collecting the family experiences and advice of Marziano Vevey, historic producer of Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle. As the years passed, Ermes was joined by his sons Nathan and Nineveh in various roles but always with the intention of looking in new directions.

Morgex is known as the heart of the Valdigne both for its geographical position, which places it in the centre of the valley, at 920 metres above sea level, in a flat position.
Prié Blanc is the only native white grape variety in the Aosta Valley. Of ancient history dating back to writings from the 13th century, it has the particularity of being grown free of foot, that is, not grafted onto American vines. Prié Blanc, grown on a total DOC area of 29 hectares and vinified in the municipalities of Morgex and La Salle, gives rise to Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle Valle d'Aosta DOP.

🍾Esprit Fou 2022. Ancestral Method

🍇100% Prie' Blanc, 15-year-old low pergola farm, on moraine, calcareous, sandy soil at about 1100 m above sea level, maceration in whole, non-dragged clusters. The must is moved to the steel one, when fermentation begins it is blocked and the wine is placed in the bottle, where fermentation begins again and ends, it is not filtered and therefore has the yeasts that form the bottom. Performs Malolactic. 12.00% vol.

A pale, veiled straw yellow fills part of the ample drinking l', exuding aromas of bread crust, broom, small dry pastry, marjoram, jujube, yellow peach, and hazelnut. The sip is pleasantly fresh and creamy, with good acidity and calcareous flavour, which give lively harmony -. The tail is medium, sinuous and long, with touches of sage, lemon balm, siliceous minerality, Kaiser pear, yellow plum and Bergamot finish and toasted almond
