Recap of the last month or so: Went to Red Rocks soon after youth nationals and learned to trad climb thanks to @tonathiurosales. @by_dannyramirez hooked it up with the 📸s. Missed a maybe historic local comp, but got to coach for the 2nd one of the season that just got cut short thanks to COVID-19😤. School is online for some time now which I don't mind at all because driving in Miami traffic is not how I like to spend my mornings. Also, @magmidt and @marteknibe came to @theedgerockgymmia today right after I finished my climbing and training session. It was really cool to see him climb in person and even climb a little with him projecting the SAME boulder after he flashes all the other ones. I got some motivation I haven't felt in a while that actually helped me send the boulder we were trying. Climbs in Red Rocks: Day 1 in Juniper Canyon: Crimson Chrysalis 5.8+ (8 of 9 pitches) It was too cold for us to finish. Day 2 in Calico Hills: Fender Bender 5.6 (My first time leading trad, placed the first piece then 2 stoppers which both came out and continued with cams the rest of the way up), Unknown route on top rope right of Fender Bender, The Ring Leader 5.8 (I lead trad, hard for 5.8) Day 3 in Oak Creek Canyon: solar slab gully 5.3 (4 pitches) into solar slab 5.6 (7 of 9 pitches) Day 4 in Calico Basin: Atman 5.10a (crack climb on top rope), Yin and Yang 5.11a (crack climb on top rope), and then some random boulders we found Day 5 in White Rock Springs: Tunnel Vision 5.7+ (lead trad pitches 4-6, no pro in pitch 5 and used 1 piece for pitch 6, super ADVENTUROUS walkdown. . . . #climbing #rockclimbing #coach #redrockcanyon #vegas #motivation #adventure #chalkmatters #nextgobestgo #sponsormeplease
