A special evening at the Sentimental Ball at the iconic Union Station. Great to hear the Kansas City Symphony, followed by the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra. Thanks to our table host, Linda Stevens, for the invitation. What a night for music in KC! #umkccons

Had a terrific time in Kansas City and at UMKC! A few shoutouts:

- Thank you to tubist @jarrett.mccourt and pianist @jiwonchoipianist for the wonderful premiere of KINGPIN: Tuba Concerto (duo version).

- Thank you @yichen6323 and Zhou Long for having me as a guest presenter for your composition students and for their wonderful hospitality.

- Thank you @joeparisi531 and the UMKC Wind Ensemble for the wonderful reading session of KINGPIN (wind ensemble version).

- Thank you to @yilin_composer and Haoyu Zhao for your assistance.

- Thank you to the UMKC Conservatory for supporting my short-term residency.

And I must thank the late @tommccaslintuba who spearheaded this concerto project before his passing. This would not have happened without his inspiration and trust in me. Jarrett and I hope to fulfill his legacy as we plan the next phase of this project.

Special thanks to Irene and Walt DeBoni for their generous financial support.

A little late posting this because I was on vacation, but I couldn’t let this milestone go by without celebrating!

Congratulations to this sweet couple on purchasing their very first home! 🏡❤️

Although I wasn’t able to be there on closing day, it was such a privilege helping them throughout the home-buying process. They were an absolute joy to work with, and I couldn’t be happier for them.

What makes this home even more special is that it won’t just be a place for them to live. It will also be a place where they’ll invest in others and build meaningful connections within the community. Knowing that makes this home purchase even more exciting.

Thank you both for trusting me to help guide you through this journey. It was truly an honor to be part of such an exciting chapter in your lives.

Congratulations again! Wishing you many happy memories and countless blessings in your new home. ❤️

Congratulations to our good friend Jarrett McCourt on the release of his third solo album, ONYX, now available on all major streaming platforms! Listen to it on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/album/55ulyox1xiM145zifXTERf?si=ej6Ttpv1QZauEXOmqZkTZg

This photo, taken a few years ago, captures Jarrett helping Chuck with the famous 360-degree tuba rotation written in Tuba Tiger Rag. Some things are easier with a little help from your friends!

Congratulations, Jarrett, and best wishes for the success of ONYX!

Just got back to Austin after a great Midwest Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference! Kudos to @jarrett.mccourt for a fantastic conference!

It was a delight to present some new works by some vibrant and talented young composers, and it was even more fun to share these pieces with some fabulous musicians. Thanks again to Jonah Zimmerman, Sophia Rivera, William Sutton, Ryan Matejek, Stephanie Fairbairn Ycaza, Chris McLaughlin, and Ken Heinlein for joining me on this little adventure! Looking forward to whenever the next time we can make loud noises!!

Please consider supporting these young composers, you can find all of their contact information on this google doc:
