Join us this Saturday, 25th from 12-7p, to celebrate Manxs Americanxs.

Manxs is a gathering group, a circle, a hermandad, built over the years, since 2018. Going from very intimate activities, this year we had the opportunity to be supported by ChaShaMa and Materials for the Arts and experiment how to share our caring, nurturing and supporting gestures with a broader audience.

We are also, for the first time, opening a show together!

‘In Circle with Manxs Americanxs’ is weaving together the many things that give us strength: community, art, plantitas, food, spirit and joy.

Hope you can come join us tomorrow or in one of the future public events we are hosting until early June (more info on my bio).
Saturday 25th activities (open from 12-7p):

12-2p Drawing with natural materials - workshop with Monica Palma
3-5p Conversation on healing and care with Don José Juares, curandero Totonac

Thank you @materialsforthearts and @chashama for the trust and all the manas for holding hands and creating this little oasis and humble gesture of hope together.

We are SO excited about this project!

Long-time Sunset Park resident and artist Jas Pinturas (@jas.pinturas) is spearheading the creation of a community mural with the assistance of neighbors, families, and local artists.

Jas created the original mural on the outside of our building and we are thrilled to have her back for a new one.

Stay tuned to see the completed work ✨

Photos from dec.12.
I joined my @roybaizan on their yearly 24hr day photographing el 12. I realized I can’t run this day lol.
Big shout outs to @tecuanes_quetzalcoatl led by coach @ferconttovar . Seeing my family reunited in the preservation of tradition was different. Slide 6 shows my pops and coach who I found out are actually cousins lol it makes tons of sense. This group of tecuanes are even more special to me too because @jas.pinturas a good ass friend is a part of it too.
