*posts spontaneous trip to limón, costa rica two months later*

we slept, ate, sunbathed & read in the black sand for hours, ate some more, listened to nature, and vibed.

costa rica humbly taught me the power of stillness amid change. a moment in time i desired to problem-solve and i was not in the position to do so, so all i could do was eat, sleep, and listen to the ocean.

and we still here.

A beautiful plant filled weekend connecting with community in the garden. 🌱🌱🌱 Kicked off the weekend at the magical @sawmill_herbfarm teaching my last build your own Herbarium workshop of the season. Was wonderful to press plants from the bounty of herbs growing. Thank you Susan & @harlem.roots.herbal for having me back again and the beautiful folks who attended. 💐 Then we hosted a fall plant distribution with @greenguerillas at my community garden @robertclinkscalesgarden in Harlem 🍂🥬🫛 Loved meeting all the local community gardens and @greenguerillas @jasduran their youth team did such a wonderful job making it all run so smoothly! We have so many extra plants to Id love to share so please message me if your interested. 🫶🏾 Truly just feel my best when i’m in nature with wonderful people so 10/10.

Open to those who identify as change makers, activists, educators, movement workers, healers, front line workers, and organizers who are currently holding space in support of the Palestinian liberation. As well as for Palestinian, Arab and Muslim kin.

Offering 🍉
Acupuncture (NADA), herbal medicine, massage therapy, reiki, a closing healing circle led by Tania Romero at 3pm and music for resistance by Afro-Indigenous Colombian Gaita group @somospuyaloahi at 4:30pm

Forest Immersion School- A Walk in Inwood Hill Forest, a gathering place known to the Lenape as Shorakapkok (sitting place), facilitated by @seb_bouk & @isaamarisa. Next walk is June 1st, we encourage those who live in the area and even those who don’t but need grounding to connect. This forest holds a rich & deep history of life, is one of the oldest surviving communities of trees on the island and houses the only salt marsh on Manahatta. Grateful for forest medicine and the call of the land which only grows louder in these times.

Wow. This 2-year Spiritual Herbalism apprenticeship with @empresskarenmrose has come to an end — Level 3 graduation — the final harvest. It’s hard to put into words the sum of what I experienced & how I feel. Too many transformations, unlearning, re-learning, uprooting, planting, sweat, sweetness & tears to articulate. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a spiritual initiation. I wasn’t sure I’d make it this far but I’m humbled & so happy I did. Eternally grateful to @empresskarenmrose for her wisdom, legacy & mentorship. Honored to be a part of the @sacredvibesapothecary lineage with these brilliant & beautiful beings, everyone who came before us & those who will come after. In healing service to our communities, guided by our ancestors. 🕯🎓💐💖🌿
