Such an amazing day with plenty of fun wedgy waves on offer for our round 4 contest for @coalcoastbodyboardclub , it was a stacked day in every division with amazing riding on display. Highlight included the rail surfing by all of the groms in their specialised session. Thanks to all of the members and their families for all of the help on the day, we couldn’t do it without you all. 40ths go off here!! @jasefinlay came over with an epic crew of mates last month to celebrate his 40th. He scored some insane waves, and we loved hanging with Jase and the boys around SS. Jase got the best barrel at the 2025 @bodyboardkingdom @sharkislandchallenge ... then came over here and somehow topped it with the best barrel of the trip too. Diversification. . We live and breath the indigenous Sydney Rock, but we also farm the Japanese Pacific oyster for the fish markets. We do this to increase our resilience as a business. Farming is tough, and the environment throws up challenges. To have two species of oyster reduces our risk of complete wipeout in extreme weather events, disease or market change. . Pacifics grow fast in our climate, and start to be sold from our farm within 2yrs. We purchase them as spat at around 2-5mm in size, and bring them through our shed to grade every few weeks when young, then every few months when older. . Here is an average day on the farm bringing in a line of Pacifics, grading them in to their new sizes, then returning to freshly dried baskets ready for conditioning & sale. .
