What an incredible and inspiring afternoon!

It was such an honor to co-chair today’s @museumatfit luncheon alongside @annebakercollection, celebrating the one and only @therealdvf, a woman whose vision, strength, and passion have inspired generations of women around the world.

The room was filled with so many wonderful people, and every detail of the afternoon was truly special. But what made it unforgettable was hearing Diane’s wisdom. Her message about the importance of kindness, especially in the world we are living in today. She reminded us that being a woman in charge of our own lives is not only about strength and confidence, but also about how we treat and empower one another. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to The Museum at FIT, the incredible @valerie_steele_fashion , President of @fitnyc @jasonschupbach , and the entire team for bringing together such a beautiful and meaningful celebration. Your dedication to fashion, creativity, and education is truly inspiring.

⚠️ positivity incoming⚠️

I’m posting this case for optimism not to diminish what’s happening in the world or how we’re all collectively grieving.

But I often get asked why I chose to help creative studio owners with finding better projects, quoting higher, and raising their deal sizes ~ especially when the industry is apparently meant to be doomed.

The default mode at the moment is panic and despair ~ the assumption that client budgets will continue to dry up and less work will be split among more creatives.

But I wouldn’t be me if I wouldn’t look at this from an economic lens and tell you otherwise ~ the macro data tells a different story.

Between 2025 and 2030 a net of 78 million jobs is expected to be created, based on the Future of Jobs report by @worldeconomicforum

Those who continue to write service lists will turn into replaceable commodities, racing to the bottom ~ the others will create their own perception and signature infrastructure, charging premium.

A lot of creatives retreat right now ~ into academia, into smaller less committed structures ~ and I get it.

There’s little space & time to truly discuss what’s going on ~ mostly motivational buzzwords, quotes, and romanticized views ~ or a loss of meaning and demotivation.

I advocate for hope+meaningful conversation and actually teaching the people I work with how to protect studio revenue when asset generation is structurally changing. Pricing power now shifts from cheap execution to filtering, having an actual opinion, and knowledge around the impact you have on larger strategic goals.

The value is in answering: is this something worth creating? And then no matter what, I urge you to please continue creating!

So swipe through and tell me: what’s your take on this?

Designer @mimiprober is a pioneer in “farm to fashion,” so much so, that she stars in a documentary about the movement (along with @donnakaranthewoman and @isabellarossellini).

Mimi is so well versed at understanding the sustainable origins of her materials, that she designs into different sheep breeds: #felt #knit #spin

This week, @MsFelitaHarris officially kicked off The Designer’s Path at the Fashion Institute of Technology (@FITNYC), opening the Future//Forward Presidential Speaker Series in conversation with FIT President @JasonSchupbach.

The evening began with an intimate reception and book signing, followed by a conversation with FIT students exploring Felita’s journey through the fashion industry, the founding and growth of RAISEfashion, and what designers need to build successful, enduring businesses. RAISEfashion designers and industry leaders joined us for this meaningful first chapter.

Thank you to President Schupbach and the FIT team for creating space for a conversation so deeply connected to the work of RAISEfashion and the purpose behind this book.

The Designer’s Path is out now.

Join us for the next installment of FIT Future//Forward Conversations, featuring Ronnen Harary, co-founder of Spin Master, co-creator of “PAW Patrol,” and executive producer of “Bakugan Battle Brawlers,” in conversation with FIT President Jason Schupbach.

Last night, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the inaugural conversation of The Presidential Speaker Series - a talk with @msfelitaharris and FIT’s President @jasonschupbach. Felita, who is the executive director of @raisefashionnow and the author of “The Designer’s Path: - A MASTERCLASS IN Building Independent Fashion Brands” dropped a lot of gems and I’m so glad I was in the room. As I often say, “It’s hard out here for a pimp” and this kind of guidance is truly invaluable. Thank You, Constance, for inviting me and nudging me to ask a question during the Q&A 🤎
