From Bumstead to Ware, to my 40th and your 40th. Our friendship has grown so much over the years. I’m so happy to be able to call you more than my friend, you are my sister. As I come down from the high I’ve been riding all week, from #cauhomecoming2025, I just wanted to reflect on the last two years of good times. This is more than a homecoming post for me. We have gone through so many friend breakups but ours has been able to stand strong. Home is truly WHERE the HEART IS because CAU absolutely has my heart! …like it (CAU/CAU framily) just does it for me EVERY SINGLE TIME! 🥹 And I wouldn’t have it any other way! The thing is I feel like with everything gong on w/the world, WE ALL needed this time…this love…THIS JOY… And a time was truly had! So am I saying an HBCU homecoming could possible heal the world?!?! Per my recent story (see slide 2), I'm sharing deets for my next sound bath on Saturday, February 15th (and after that, every 3rd Saturday of the month) 🗓 Facilitating sound baths is one of my greatest joys these days—being able to create a moment of pause, ease, reflection, joy and rest for people sorely in need of it all (including myself!) is a gift that keeps giving ♥️🙏🏾 In addition to these monthly sound baths in partnership with the kindest team at @madhurastudios (and hopefully again soon at the Brooklyn Navy Yards in the beautiful studio space of @katequarfordt and @alejandroduran 🤗) I'm excited to hold my first one-on-one sound baths in February, and my first (of many to come) leadership retreat in March ✨️ Please think of me when your organization is planning wellness activities, corporate and leadership retreats 🎶✔️ P.s. I must say, being a Black woman is always an amazing thing 🙌🏾 And curating opportunities to do my unique brand of sound healing as a Black woman whose work, talent and passion have taken me far as a singer/songwriter is seismic. I get to show up FULLY as the multi-passionate creative that I am (thanks for the intro to this moniker @jennyhchao 💕) bringing all my joy and all my identities everywhere I go 🥰 P.p.s. Took me some time to go back and reflect. Dropped some tears this morning, thinking back to everything I’ve lost in 23’; the restoration that was 24’ and the wonder of what’s to come. Somehow it was as if I woke up this morning with amnesia… feeling low and unsure about how to plan for what’s next. Starting anew can be so scary, setting a goal and the expectation of meeting it can be even scarier. But 2025 I welcome you with open arms. I couldn’t fit everything into this reel so there will prolly be a follow up to this one; but wow the stories😭😂 From driving my first car straight off the lot, to traveling out the country not once but twice for work, to making music with my extended family, to booking my first TV show, to entering a new decade of life, a couple unsuccessful dates 🫠 traveling out the country with my best friends, traveling with my mom, seeing Stevie Wonder Live and countless core memories activated. God, I’m forever grateful.
