What a wonderful weekend we had celebrating our big girl with MOST of the village that helped raise her. Sorry we couldn’t invite everyone that has touched her life and ours - there just isn’t enough space in one building for that! Spending time with family and friends …. What more could you ask for?! ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS

Yes, I accomplished something that took me 2 years to achieve.. Yes, at the end of the day I had to run 26.2 miles with the only two legs I have.. But at no point did I run this race alone. My 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮 got me there. Lead by my beautiful wife @javabronte .. Baby, I wouldn’t have accomplished ANY of this if it wasn’t for you. If it wasn’t for you turning the other way when I spent a ridiculous amount of money on ruining shoes, shorts, hydration vests (oh yea, and the entry fee to every race) If it wasn’t for you dropping me off at every single 9+1 race all over the city. If it wasn’t for that time you picked me up from the Bayonne Bridge because I pulled my hamstring.. If it wasn’t for you encouraging me, motivating me, even at times when you must’ve felt I was doing too much. If it wasn’t for your love, 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. So you ran this race just as much as I did… 𝙒𝙀 ran the #tcsnycmarathon

& then there’s my family!

You guys kept me going! I could NOT have done this without you. For anyone who doesn’t know, at mile 16 I started to cramp in my lower right calf and at that point I got extremely nervous. I knew how his would go. I knew that this small cramp would soon turn into a major problem… 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙄𝙏 𝘿𝙄𝘿… By mile 18, that small cramp turned into a MAJOR tightening of both my legs. I mentally felt like I wouldn’t reach my goal. Each step was leading me closer and closer to that Medical tent. I was even reasoning with myself that it wouldn’t be a failure if I did.

But this is where my family came into play

From Mile 16 -26.2 they were at 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙔 𝙎𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙇𝙀 𝙈𝙄𝙇𝙀, cheering me on, telling me to keep going! At times running faster than me 😂.. Each mile I had something to look forward to! It makes me emotional just typing this, because I 𝙉𝙀𝙀𝘿𝙀𝘿 every single moment! It didn’t take away the agony I had, but it made it much more bearable. I will forever remember your acts of kindness and loyal love! I love y’all, I’m indebted to y’all .. & 𝙒𝙀 ran the #tcsnycmarathon

But I got the medal tho 🏅 😂
