On Saturday, August 29, community members gathered at the Folkston ICE Processing Center to demand the release of political prisoner Yaakub Vijandre, who has been illegally detained by ICE for nearly a year because of his expression of solidarity with Palestine and refusal to serve as an FBI informant. Protest attendees included students from Jacksonville, Florida, a Palestinian journalist from Maryland, a lawyer from Atlanta, and an Imam from Orlando. They sang songs in English and Spanish as detained men waved and thumped on the door, peering through a tiny window to the outside through layers of barbed wire. We stand in steadfast solidarity with all detained people and political prisoners and demand liberation and justice for all. End the Genocide, Free Palestine, Abolish ICE, Free Them All!! #shutdownfipc
