🤔This Tuesday’s park visit is to @riversedgejax Central Park. Did you know it’s missing something? Originally planned was a giant art piece, a pearl like sculpture at the center. We ask the question - with the old @haskellco building sold and to be torn down for new development - why not repurpose that beautiful fountain there? That would need agreement between the city, the current property owner, and RiverEdge. Plus support and funding to make it happen.

Trail Review: Jacksonville Northbank Riverwalk 🥾🐾

Want to see downtown Jacksonville from one of its best angles? The Jacksonville Northbank Riverwalk delivers 4.3 miles of St. Johns River views, downtown scenery, and even the chance to spot dolphins—I saw several swimming during my morning walk! 🐬

📍 Artist Square Park, 718 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL
📏 Distance: 4.3 miles
⚡ Difficulty: Easy
🐾 Pet Friendly: Yes
🥾 Attire: Comfortable walking shoes or running shoes, lightweight breathable clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring water, especially during warmer months since portions of the Riverwalk are exposed.
🚻 Restroom: Yes
⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

The Northbank Riverwalk follows the St. Johns River from Riverside toward downtown Jacksonville, offering excellent views of the river, skyline, bridges, and passing boats. Along the route you’ll also find boat docks, access near the Riverside Arts Market, and a shoreline canoe and kayak launch.

This is more of an urban walking trail than a traditional hike, but that’s exactly what makes it different. You can get some solid miles in while experiencing the Jacksonville riverfront and downtown from a completely different perspective.

👍 My take: A great urban walking trail with beautiful St. Johns River and downtown Jacksonville views. Go early in the morning for cooler temperatures—and you might even get lucky and spot some dolphins. 🐬
