Without doubt, one of the best aspects of Fabrications 25 years has been the opportunity to meet, co-create and collaborate with such a talented and supportive, creative community of people.
I'm sorry if I've left anyone out of the photo collages or not tagged you, but KNOW every contribution is seen, felt and lives on through the space and collective knowledges.

Once upon a time…

a little girl dreamed of becoming an artist - here are some of the crazy things she did to make it happen…

*Spent summers in her granny’s cottage at the foot of the Mourne Mountains & sketched everything she saw.

*At 17 shadowed an incredible artist and created & framed her very first painting.

*Graduated with B.Ed (Hons) in Art & Design & studied Interior Design alongside it with a view to twinning the 2 in her Art business somehow.

*Began her teaching career but held solo Art exhibitions every 2 years to keep the dream & vision alive!

*Handed in her notice as Head of Art after 17 years to finally make her dreams a reality.

*Held pop up exhibitions in hotels & businesses while painting at her parent’s kitchen table.

*Approached galleries and started to sell her work professionally.

*Was featured in 3 @britishvogue publications!

*Moved house, created a studio space & started an Instagram home account @theartistscasa to show the renovations & her Art in her home and customers started to flood in.

*Was ‘spotted’ on Instagram by renowned BBC presenter Jay Blades & they launched a collaboration together of her vibrant art on velvet fabrics and furniture.

@utv_life_ni Life picked up the story & shared it worldwide.

*Was approached by a local landlord about a period property & grabbed the keys with both hands opening her first gallery a few weeks later.

*Was approached by another TV company to share her story alongside other local @wbr_creditunion members.

*Was featured on a billboard!

*Was approached many times to share her story with others.

*Had a dream come true collaboration with @kukoonrugs

*Was invited to exhibit her work in a prestigious LA exhibition!

Was approached by the @bbcni to enter her newly renovated home into ‘House of the Year’ & got to make coffee for @llewelynbowen

*Moved home & opened a second gallery in @castlecourtbelfast due to customer demand and support.

I want to thank you for sharing my journey with me and for allowing me to add colour and joy to the world! The best is yet to come!

🌟 Courage 🌟

When I created ‘Courage’ I wanted to capture the raw strength, resilience, and heart it takes to face life’s challenges head-on.

Over time, I’ve been deeply moved by how many of you have chosen this piece to gift to others who needed an extra boost of bravery. Each time someone shares it, I feel a connection in knowing that Courage has become a symbol of strength, hope, and love.

Now, as I step into my own journey with cancer, this painting takes on new meaning. It’s my turn to draw strength from Courage, to remind myself that I, too, can face whatever lies ahead with a steady heart and fierce spirit.

Thank you to everyone who has shared this journey with me and who believes in the power of art to heal, uplift, and inspire.

Back from a wonderful weekend at Potfest with one day to draw breath before setting up for the next amazing show!
