For the record, I can still rock. Fantastic show from @chestertonhs ’s #lynyrdsinnards last night, a band I’ve been trying to see since 1988.

So many great costumes, even dead people are dressing up as Bob’s Burgers characters this year.

Some other PDX Highlights: All the lovely faces. All the dog love. The sights and sounds. A couple inside jokes between me and Selina. And yes! The flight home was so empty everyone pretty much got their own row! Back to the grind at 5pm. Come say hi. I haven’t seen you lately.

Ok time for another cute one, also submitted by @jaycastaldi :
“This tape was made in the spring of 1994 by @alexiswcphoto. We had just started dating, and I was about to go on tour with my band for the first time, so she made this for me to listen to on the road. This tape has not one but two Sockeye songs, so I knew she was somebody special. Shortly after I got back from tour we moved in together, and we've been together ever since.”

The then & now photos are my favorite part tbh, but I am a known sap. Also this is also how I learned Social Unrest covered The Buzzcocks and it’s not half bad. Thanks Jay & Alexis for letting me share this! Y’all are cute.

This is maybe the coolest design I’ve ever seen, and exactly why I love mixtapes so much. So many of my favorite bands on this track list too.

“This mixtape was made for me by my friend Mati my first year at college, so ‘89 or ‘90. At the time he made this for me we had been friends for just a few months, so the theme driving the song selection is basically "this is what I'm into." The case is the showstopper here, a true work of art. The baby doll is sitting in sculpted shit. If that's not creepy enough, the baby's eyes and the front of the case are done in glow-in-the-dark paint. The J card had photo collage bits adhered to it, but, unsurprisingly, after 30+ years the glue has given up. The back of the tracklist card features a photo of Mati, showing off a huge cut in his hand that I helped him bandage up.” - Jay (@jaycastaldi)
