Today, I lost a dear friend to cancer, and it’s hard to find words big enough for the man he was.

He was a firefighter, a father, and an amazing husband. He spent his life caring for people, both in the line of duty and in the family he loved. I admired him for all of that, but what I’ll carry with me most is his outlook on life. Besides my dad, he was the most positive person I’ve ever met.

Some people leave you feeling better simply because you’ve been around them. He was one of those people. His warmth, his kindness, and his ability to find something good in life were gifts to everyone who knew him.

My heart breaks for Megan, his children, family and everyone who loved him. There is no replacing a man like that, and no easy way to say goodbye.

Cancer took his life today, but it cannot take away the love he gave, the people he helped, or the difference he made. Those things stay with us.

Rest easy, my friend. I’m grateful I got to know you. I’ll miss you, and I’ll try to carry a little more of your positivity into the world. It could sure use it. -Henry

One year ago today, I made the best decision I ever could’ve made and gave my life to the Lord! And ever since that day, I’ve grown, matured, accomplished so many goals (old and new), and even learned in ways I never would’ve know that were going to be apart of my life. He sent me through challenges that I never could’ve gotten through without him. He’s put people into my life and help me get closer to friends that are now, and forever will be, family, he’s made me even closer and loving to my entire family, and even had me learn new things about myself and my gifts he’s given me that I never would’ve been able to see or learn without him there to show me. The best way to live life is to live it with the Lord by your side 24/7, and I can confirm that. Thank you lord for what you’ve done with me and I cannot wait to see what comes next on our journey together! #agtg✝️ #ao1
