Deadly Gross 2026
Hardest event I have ever done

3 deadly dozens each on paper does not sound that difficult but the longevity of the whole day, time on feet and social battery required to keep focused and positive took its toll

You get to a stage where your “strongest stations” leave you a quivering mess on an air bed 😭

But there is something about achieving this together as a team - the relationships you build, the support you give each other and the general will to continue despite being ridiculously tired as you do not want to let your team mates down

I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to do this with - they dug me out of a hole multiple times, gave words of encouragement and stepped in when i needed more rest and recovery

This has shown me you can do hard things, with the right mindset and the will to continue - the mind gives up long before the body - once you push through that discomfort you reach this other side where you just continue with the pain - it’s an experience I have for next time

Looking forward to not seeing lunges for a while and hoping my next deadly dozen will be ridiculously easy after an event like this!

The whole atmosphere at these events are so good, everyone cheering each other on and spreading words of encouragement - it’s what makes the day fun for everybody

@madeleine_86 @rstiffers - thanks for the constant support - spray downs with water, refilling our bottles, keeping us up to date on the plan and being great conversation throughout the day.

@jaykils1 @kacperjaworski89 @primalroutines always a pleasure with you boys

@katyfitz85 thanks for doing the hardest job - watching the kids so I could go up to stoke and then letting me sleep all day yesterday 🤣

Tough session today down Lee valley programmed by @jaykils1. Session 2 of the hyrox base builder, chose to do 35kg sandbag lunges and 10kg wallballs until I was broken then moved onto 7kg. Good to train with my bro @d.performance.academy putting the work in for December Hyrox. The wallballs broke me today but we will keep coming back and try and get fitter and stronger as the weeks progress. #trainhardcompeteeasy #hyroxtraining

Came, competed and conquered! First place in the doubles with the main man Jay for the first @deadly.dozen comp in london. We be back in April to try and hold onto the crown.
The whole event from start to finish was top class, people, jusges and competition were unreal!

Daaaaamn that was pure heatwave running and I swear the whole course was uphill 😩😂 every kilometre I was pleading for the downhill part to come but it never did 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Would have been happy for #Sub40 after binging & drinking all weekend was gutted to see I crossed the line at 40.06 now just depressed with myself to have pushed harder but oh well still a good #10k in this heat to sweat out all the alcohol and burn up all the ice cream consumed 😂

Happy to have seen & run with my mate Jay who was the one who told me about the @myracebest remembrance run for PC Andrew Harper 🙏🏼 now to chill and reward myself with more food 🤤🤤
