I’m reading tonight at 7pm with the wonderful @jaylentstrong and @jaysonpsmith for Dear Friend Books’ closing celebration. DJ at 9pm. I loved Dear Friend Books and living in Bed-Stuy near it, and am sad to see this gathering space and book repository go—and excited for what comes next for everyone involved. Each reader has posted this flyer with a self-portrait, so here’s mine, complete with a vacuum cord in the background, and no longer quite-so-long hair. xo

This is an excerpt from the first track on KINDRED BUSINESS, titled COVE.

It is a gift to be able to build sonic platforms with those who must speak their truth about what they are living in/thru honestly and thoroughly, material conditions and all. It is a pleasure to do this to the upmost with Jaylen.

KINDRED BUSINESS is a collaborative project between @canteenkilla & @jaylentstrong • released previously for Bandcamp Friday - 💿 available on all DSPs Friday, September 18th 💿

Featuring @nappy_nina & @cleoforshort
Production by canteenkilla, Jaylen Strong, & Cleo Reed
Mastered by @swarvy
Brought to you by @lucidhaus
