My story… God get the glory!

I was born with down syndrome, in addition to my condition the doctor told my mom I may not walk or talk.
My mom laid hands on me and pray for me. She told me I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
She told me never forget that and say that. I say it and I believe it every day. Today I am a walking talking, successful DJ. God gets all the glory!🙌🏽

Thursday night was one of those nights I’ll be thinking about for a while.

100+ RSVPs for a room full of people building their own AI agents, live.

Thank you @teamworkingbytechnexus for hosting us and @thevibefounder for partnering. Thanks to our panel from Claude Community, IBM, Launchpad Lab, and DubClub.

Shoutout to a few builders, who made the room:

@heromenshealth is an anesthesiologist during the daytime and built a workflow to automate his clinics patient experience.

@specialk_das built an agent that scrapes leads and comps for commercial real estate deal flow.

@randyvollrath built an agent for Chicago parking tickets (iykyk).

@kenichimario built an editing engine for his creator interviews.

@thebhaktiedit.co built her own Chicago content reels engine

@jacki.mundra built an AI agent for her ADHD business.

@arishakg wrote her agent in Russian, translated it to English, and used it to launch @312history.

Building is the easy part now.

The right room, and real people to use and test what you build? That’s what matters. That’s what we’re building here.

Want in? Comment FORGE and I’ll send you the invite to the next one.

One wrong document can create a major headache. After a decade in government affairs, Janella Curtis knows that firsthand.

In 2025, she turned that experience into two ventures: a Chicago notary company and NookScan Protocol, software designed to bring stronger compliance standards to the notary industry. She’s also one of Anthropic’s founding Claude Community Ambassadors for Chicago, helping local founders put AI to practical use.

Came to learn 3 ways to use AI in my business, stayed for the people 🧱

Running a studio by myself gets lonely, so here’s what I’m taking with me:
-> Put yourself out there. You never know what could happen.
-> Keep learning and stay curious.
-> Creators really are the next builders.

@umamakibria and @landon20s , thank you for creating this hackathon for us, you’ll definitely see me again. Shout out to @jaymceeeee for the wonderful Claude session! And thank you @lyd_knoll for putting me onto these events. So lovely seeing you again!

Chicago’s tech and creative community is booming right now, and it feels so real.

Earlier this week I hosted Claude Community Chicago Build Day for Fable 5.1, and 90+ people showed up to Ferris & Co ready to go!

We took a look at what’s new in the model and two live demos, and then everyone had about an hour to build something on it. 15 teams signed up to show what they made and a panel of five local judges scored every build.

Within about an hour, teams had working builds up on the big screen in front of a full room. I serve with one philosophy “to be a solution in a world full of problems,” and putting these tools in people’s hands is the fastest way I know to do that.

Congratulations to Team Storm Ready on the best team build, an app that tracks the whole arc of a storm, and the team prize from Anthropic. And congratulations to,Skyline Project, a living 3D Chicago you can explore and add your own building to, on the best individual build. His prize is two tickets to the Obama Presidential Center.

Thank you to my fellow ambassadors @jaymceeeee and Kaveri Chikkara for hosting the night with me.

To @lacherrieamour, @ajalevans, @desibaker_, @saraiazun, @dicegamble and MANY MORE for helping make sure everything ran smoothly all night

Gratitude to David Dewane Ferris & Co for the space, and to @thrixelinc team for the credits and tools that helped people build.

Thank you to @claudeai and Anthropic for backing Chicago.

Once again, another amazing community effort. I appreciate everyone that showed up and showed out. Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽

All Praises to The Most High.

Nobody hands you a map of Chicago tech when you get here. You find it by accident, usually a year later than you should have.

So I'm making the "Still Early in Chicago" series covering the startup, tech & VC resources, people and places worth knowing if you're new to the city, starting at @chicagobooth , or building something here.

First up, the Claude Community. The Chicago chapter launched last month and has already run three events. I interviewed 6 of the 7 ambassadors who run it about why they started this and what's coming next.

Next meetup is Sept 16 at Ferris & Co. Link in the comments.

More resources coming in this series. Drop the ones I should cover. In case it's not obvious, I'm still early too. Early in my VC career, early stage is what I invest in, early enough that I'm still finding these rooms myself.

Still Early.
