🏆Celebrating Excellence in B.C. Hospitality!

One of this week's highlights was attending the @bcrfa Hall of Fame Dinner on Monday evening, celebrating the incredible people who help shape British Columbia's restaurant and hospitality industry.

Rising Tide Consultants' President & Founder, Bert Hick, had the honour of presenting two awards:

🌟 Rising Star Award – Shawn Soole

🏆 Supplier Award – Jason Pleym

A wonderful evening recognizing industry leaders, celebrating achievements, and connecting with the people who make B.C.'s hospitality community so special.

Congratulations to Shawn, Jason, and all of this year's award recipients! Thank you to the BC Restaurant & Foodservices Association for bringing everyone together for another memorable evening.

Cheers to the people who continue to move our industry forward! 🥂

Huge thank you to Jay Pleym and the Two Rivers Meats crew! 🙌

There’s something pretty special about watching the site come to life early in the morning — and Jay’s legendary breakfast sandwiches might just be the best way to kick off Brewery & the Beast. 🔥🥪

Great food, great people and a whole lot of work happening behind the scenes before the gates ever open.

Thanks for fuelling the crew, Jay — much appreciated! 👊🔥

@chefstablebc @cookscamp 2026 is in the BOOKS! Great work from the CTS/CooksCamp Steering Committee, to our generous sponsors and to ALL who contributed to the success of this year’s stunning culinary gathering. As they say, #teamworkmakesthedreamwork and #manyhandsmakelightwork.

CooksCamp is a CTS passion project which holds so much significance for us. Every year, the event runs smoother, there’s more traction from all involved and the joy/positive feedback/gratitude shown by the CooksCamp-ers is the real proof of our efforts.

CooksCamp 2027 will be even bigger/better/faster/stronger, so while it’s fresh in your mind, consider how you and your community can contribute to next year’s event. If you’ve never been to CooksCamp, please consider attending next year. Also, please reach out to me directly if you have strategic partnership/sponsorship ideas, activation thoughts, foods you want to see/cook/eat and if you have any crazy ideas for us to entertain and implement. I want your input.

The countdown is on for @cookscamp 2027!

The people of CooksCamp make the event so vibrant, fun, educational and delicious. Part 1

🥩 From Canadian farms to BC tables! In 2007, @jaypleym & Margot Pleym founded @tworiversmeats with a clear purpose: connect BC chefs with exceptional Canadian farms and share outstanding local food with passionate people 🌾🇨🇦

Starting from scratch, they built Two Rivers into one of BC’s leading craft butcheries, earning a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and a standout charcuterie program. From house-made sausages to a growing retail business, nearly two decades of growth haven’t changed what sits at the heart of Two Rivers: a genuine love of great local food ❤️

We’re proud to recognize Jason Pleym as a 2026 BC Restaurant Hall of Fame inductee and celebrate the role he has played in strengthening the connection between Canadian producers, BC chefs and our restaurant community ⭐

Drop a 👏 in the comments to congratulate Jason on this well-deserved induction! #BCRestaurantHallOfFame #BCRFA #BCHospitality #BCRestaurants

A long-standing feature of COOKSCAMP, the butchery and fabrication demonstration becomes the cornerstone of subsequent meals and activations during the event 🥩🔪

Attendees will absorb potent knowledge through observation or even active participation in butchery and fabrication 💯Get real-time feedback from our lead butcher, Ray Bucknell and sponsors, @tworiversmeats

This Day 1 activation will appeal to everyone: those who learned these skills in the past, practice them in the present, or are taking the first steps towards mastering them in the future.

Take advantage of this unique learning experience at COOKSCAMP 2026 and make some tangible, measurable progress in your career!

Had the pleasure of chatting with Owner and founder of Two Rivers Meats on today’s podcast. I have known Jason for over 20 years, and I learned a few things during our chat. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

For more than a decade, Brewery & The Beast has been one of Canada's most anticipated food events, bringing together top chefs, restaurants, farmers, producers, and beverage partners for a celebration of live-fire cooking.
