This is not a post to inspire, educate, or say anything particularly smart. At this point, I’m honestly just using this as my journal. So, well… welcome to my brain, I guess.

I have a chronic autoimmune disease.

Autoimmune means my own immune system is attacking my body. To treat it, I take an immunosuppressant: injections that lower my immune system. As you probably guessed, having a weakened immune system isn’t exactly ideal. I’m weak. I’m sick all the time. Whatever virus or bacteria is going around, it’s usually for me.

For chronic, it means there’s basically no cure. My treatment helps a lot. The pain was unbearable before I started it, so it’s hard to complain. But still, the disease is attacking my spine. I feel so stiff, stuck in my own body. My neck hurts, my back hurts, my sacrum hurts… everything hurts.

I don’t have a solution. I’m just so tired of it. I’m not at the point where I’m at peace with it yet.
But I know talking about it is probably a good first step, so here I am.

Anyway… Be kind to your sparring partners. You never know what they’re going through.
