We welcomed baby Mylah into the Baird family in the wee minutes of the morning on September 29th. She was born at 8lbs 12oz and is already very loved by her big brothers. Its hard to believe she’s finally here! Our hearts are very full! 🥰

Back from 3 weeks in Algoma and already missing the simple routines and the days unfolding on the water. As usual, the memories made will tide me over until next time, and a whole new season is now just beginning here at home.

Sunset view from the other side of the point from the camp bay

Regular morning fishing view.

Island hopping.

Jim fillets our dinner on a backcountry lake while Hudson looks on.

Moonlight gleaming off the old Grumman.

One of those “Swift logo” trees.

Requisite visit to “the falls. Always worth the windy travers of the backside of the lake.

My mom trying out the Swift Prospector 14.

View from Blueberry Hill, up backside of the camp.

Additional accommodations.

The big rock fall. The scale of this is hard to grasp@until you see a fishing boat at the bottom that looks tiny.

Rock pegs on a beauty of a backcountry lake in the lKes above camp.

Crisp mornings call for a fire.

One of the drawbacks of a water access only camp. Can only wait so long for the weather to pass.

I ventured up into the beautiful backcountry lakes above our camp lake for a couple days as I usually do, this time with @jbadventurer, his son Hudson, and dog North. The scenery never disappoints, and we managed to dodge passing thunderstorms as we paddled through 3 different lakes. The trout were lurking deep, but we took enough bass on the last lake before our site to enjoy an awesome fish fry after dark, tucked away from the wind behind a large boulder. The next day we took a side trip to take in the view from a huge rockfall before portaging down the last lake, and then finally cruising through a small creek out into the main lake where we were picked up.
