This summer was a movie!!

Thank you so much to @dogwooddellrva @blkvatheatrealliance @danceceo and @divadesiree1 for bringing this vision to life and giving me the chance to meet such beautiful, funny, and inspiring people.

During a time of uncertainty for us all, it was incredible to share many laughs, life and love with the entire cast and crew. This was no small task and everyone locked in and put on a SHOOW, okay!!

This may have been the first, but it will NAWT be the last.

I cannot wait to continue to cross paths with y’all and watching everyone do their thanggg. We did our big one with this show. Thank you thank you thank you thank youuuuuuu!!!!!!! 🤩💃🏾🪩💗💗

Blessed to be so loved and supported by wonderful fiancé @conchandrea 😘 though the last 3 months. I absolutely loved seeing my cardboard head throughout the show 😂🤞🏾

My Donna Summer Musical Reflection | Part II🪩🎤

To @ttrend_setter @tajma_designs, the best stage manager & costume designer you’ll ever have. What a full circle moment for us since highschool. I’m so glad that we got to work together again. I cherish that so much. May our paths continue to cross. Love you both🫶🏾.

To @spicy_mayo_jr @dogwooddellrva. Thank you for the opportunity to perform on the Dogwood Dell stage. What an honor it was to be part of this history and to perform for the community.

To @blkvatheatrealliance, what a pleasure it was to work with this company again since Tiana Experience & Forbidden Broadway. I will forever be proud of the growth and will forever support and be involved🤎.

To my cast, words can’t describe how I feel about you all🥹. All of you are SUPERSTARS🤩🌟! The most talented, hardworking, fun, supportive, kind-hearted people I’ve ever met with such beautiful souls. You all are like siblings to me. I couldn’t have asked for better, seriously. This is my passion, my purpose, it fills and fuels my heart and to do it with such generous and amazing people as you all, it was an absolute dream. God knew what he was doing when he brought us together, together we’re magic✨. Each and everyone of you are so special to me. I will forever support you all. Love you all so so much! I hope to work with each of you again, but I also just look forward to staying connected.

I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts on this whole experience for the past week. I came into this wanting to be a part of something but also wanting to be off to the side where I can’t be seen but still involved. Welp . . . that didn’t happen 😂

Thank you @divadesiree1 & @ttrend_setter for seeing me in the light I try to hide from. Thank you to the creative team for pushing us and creating this magical space that we got to share with Richmond for a weekend. From somewhat dancing, to trying to sing that one song with that wild note to not looking up at the sky when I speak to people, lol y’all helped me figure it out. Love y’all @danceceo, @larrylewis.217 & @kaytonium 🫶🏾

I questioned often if I could do any of this, be a newbie in a space where others have already found their comfort? Uneasy at first, I found comfort quickly. It felt like summer camp. Meeting new friends and playing around with our imaginations. You truly see the heart in people and I got to experience heart from all my cast mates. We all got to be vulnerable, honest, emotional, tired, frustrated, compassionate and go through this together. I love and adore each and every one of y’all 💜. To my Donna’s, y’all embody light in everything you do and that inspires me so much. Thank you for giving this “old lady” space to rediscover herself, I got myself a whole new set of sisters.

ok now here's the sappy part:
being a part of history at The Dogwood Dell was truly such a cool experience. i auditioned for Donna Summer because i knew how much dancing that would have to be involved in order to tell the story, and i was really really hoping i'd get to be a part of it. what i didnt know is that this show would heal a piece of me that i couldnt see! getting back on stage, performing choreo of this caliber, AND getting to wear a lacefront mustache? now THAT'S perfection.

to the creative team, thank you all for taking a chance on me and allowing me to just be in the room to witness your talents in action. to the crew and musicians, thank you for the insane amounts of work you've put into this process to bring the story to life (and for the help with the seemingly endless and quickest of quick changes). and finally to the cast, thank you for the laughs, the lessons, the time, and for sharing your gifts with me and our community! to all of you i can only end on a big...SLAY!!! 💙🪩🎶✨️💜

If you would’ve told me 3 years ago that I would be playing Donna Summer, I wouldn’t have believed you one bit! There are some roles that come along that are dreams you never knew you had. This one of them. I can’t believe I got to share this dream with the most amazing cast and crew and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! To my Donna sisters, you will always remain in my heart and this is not the end for us!! I love all of you so so much 🥹
