Thank you to Kendall Becker and the MSU Exponent for sharing the story behind Shredtober and our work toward more places to skate in Bozeman.

This year, around 350 people joined us at Kirk Park and helped raise $34,671 toward the new Bozeman skatepark fund. We’re super proud of that progress and grateful to everyone who made it possible.

To our volunteers, sponsors, donors, musicians, nonprofit partners, food providers, and everyone who came out: thank you. Your time, generosity, and support are moving this project forward. And thank you @worldboardsinc!!!!

One of our favorite parts of these events is seeing people of all ages encouraging each other. That’s the community we want to keep supporting as we work toward a new skatepark.

We appreciate the Exponent helping bring that effort to more people. Read the full story below!

"He still stand
And he still gives his love, he just gives it away.
The love he receives is the love that is saved."
Hola a las 3 personas que leen esto! :)

Obrigado!

🇺🇸 On top of being an amazing film, Into The Wild left as a legacy an outstanding soundtrack composed by Eddie Vedder, which featured songs that are ever present in the singer’s solo performances set lists. This is my tribute to Society, one of the best of said soundtrack. Hope you’ll enjoy and share it with your friends. Thank you!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Black is, without a doubt, the most recognized Pearl Jam song anywhere in the world, and it deserves to be sung with heart and sensibility. The first time he heard me sing it, Eddie Vedder asked me how I knew that pain, and his words have resonated with me ever since. I was too nervous to give him a proper answer, but I think that the perfection behind Black is its ability to converse with everyone who’s ever felt, one way or another, what he felt when he wrote it. I hope you like this tribute.

Vs. by @pearljam was released #OnThisDay in 1993 in America. This is my first pressing, purchased on release day. Still looks and sounds great. I have owned this longer than I haven’t at this point. 🤘

🎸 On this day, October 19, 1993, Pearl Jam released their iconic second studio album, Vs. through Epic Records! 🎶

🌟After the massive success of Ten, the band entered the studio to craft a follow-up, and Vs. delivered a rawer, more aggressive sound. This album marked the first time they worked with producer Brendan O'Brien and featured new drummer Dave Abbruzzese. The result? A record-breaking hit that sold 950,000 copies in just 5 days and held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for five weeks!

📀With tracks like "Animal," "Daughter," "Rearviewmirror ,"and "Go," Vs. remains a landmark in alternative rock history. The album not only defined Pearl Jam’s sound but also solidified their status as one of the greatest bands of the era. The album has since been certified 7× Platinum, influencing generations of rock musicians and fans alike. 🔥

🙌Here is to this legendary album and the brilliance of Pearl Jam! 🤘

Today’s spin is Pearl Jam - Vs (1993)

33 years ago today, Pearl Jam released their 2nd studio album, Vs! This is the 2023 limited ‘Orange with White Swirls’ edition (aka the Dreamsicle variant) played at 45 RPM.

It plays as beautiful as it looks.

Yes, we just spun Vs a week ago for the anniversary of its “Early Vinyl Release” but this @pearljam album is too damn good to not give it another spin today with the kids!

According to @pjstattracker, I’ve witnessed 91% of Vs live. The one song that’s been haunting me since my first show in 1996 is “Leash”. I’ve seen “Rearviewmirror” and “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” the most — both tied at 14 times.

Give me a Vs-heavy show, and I’m a happy guy.

Our Favorite Track: “Animal”

So what’s the deal with Pearl Jam’s mascot? 🙌

Stickman was drawn by the band’s bassist Jeff Ament as artwork for their first single “Alive” as an expression of his feeling of playing in the best band of his life, being locked into pure creative expression.

But if you look closer, Stickman’s 10 fingers might hold more meaning than first meets the eye.

The band was originally named Mookie Blaylock, after the New Jersey Net’s point guard, #10. They named their debut album TEN after his jersey number… so fans wonder if the connections run deeper.

Probably just a neat coincidence.
