@jeffbrown_graphics delivered once again with his talents for the cover artwork for Python's Shock The Jalisco Incident Part 3.
Jeff and I initially knew that the cover had potential, but the main issue was finding a way to make it both an action scene while still making Python the ship that's front and center while still being able to properly show the scene it depicts.
We found inspiration in old WWI news correspondence paintings of dogfights over the western front, and it immediately came to life.
Python's Shock releases December 11, 2026 in paperback and Kindle (including Kindle Unlimited) and will release in audiobook next fall.

Is there anything more satisfying than a competed series? Maybe book mail?

I just received Clockwork Princess from @bewitched.pages to complete their first sub series Infernal Devices by @cassieclare1

This series is probably my favorite YA series to date as I’ve said many times in the past, although i absolutely love Shadowhunters in general. I CANT wait for The Last King of Faerie to be released on Nov 3rd!

🎨 SFF ARTIST APPRECIATION 🎨
Welcome to another edition of my artist/designer spotlight series, where I spread the love for my favorite creatives in the SFF space.

This time I’m shouting out my friend @jeffbrown_graphics, hands down one of the best artists around. Every piece Jeff creates is so evocative, with characters and environments that always feel alive, as well as typography that perfectly compliments his artwork. He also has the most experimental imagination of any artist I’ve worked with, as is evident by the insane-yet-beautiful art he created for The Book of Spores. Don’t hesitate to hire Jeff, cause he’ll exceed every expectation you have.

I can’t believe I’ve never shown off this beautiful set of The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini! 🐉

The artwork by @jeffbrown_graphics @reneaignerillustration and @penglu_art is stunning! I mean, look at those edges 😍🤩

When @thebrokennbinding announced they were releasing this set I was so excited — I read these books in middle school and was obsessed with them! These books were my first real taste of epic fantasy and I haven’t looked back since. Eragon and Saphira made me want to jump in the pages and be a dragon rider.

What was your introduction to epic fantasy?

Operation Bounce House - Written by @mattdinniman (Published by @thebrokennbinding)

After marathoning all of Dungeon Crawler Carl, I had to check out Matt Dinniman's one-off book, Operation Bounce House! I'm nearly done with it, and while it's super different, there are a lot of similarities, and I'm really enjoying it. The Broken Binding absolutely outdid themselves with this book design, too. Wow. I'm going to be watching this publisher for more books. Though they have a pre-order system that is very different from anything I've ever seen.

—————————

All New Sonoran colonist Oliver Lewis ever wanted to do is run the family ranch and keep their aging fleet of intelligent agriculture bots ticking.

But now the colossal Apex Corporation has been hired to commence an “eviction action” – exterminate all life on New Sonora in preparation for a reboot. And they charge bored Earthers for the opportunity to design their own war machines, remotely pilot them, and make it a game.

The game is called Operation Bounce House...

And New Sonora is its playing field.

Determined to defend the only home he’s ever known, Oliver and his friends find themselves fighting for their lives against these machines.

To earth it's a game, but to Oliver, it's war.

These are some of my all time favourite sprayed edges that I own. I think they are absolutely stunning. Is it a coincidence that they are all wolf themed, I don't think so. I love wolves. There is something so majestic and beautiful about these animals.

If they play a central role in a story, then I want to read about them!

My obsession with wolves started when I was very young and I am beyond glad that I have not grown out of it. I'm also so happy that fantasy is refocusing on them again and more stories are being published with wolves at the forefront!

If you have any recommendations then I would love hear them!

These editions are:

- The waterstones editions of Dire Bound and Fury Bound by Sable Sorensen and art by Hillary Bardin @reebardin

- The Fairyloot editions of The Wolf King and the Night Prince by Lauren Palphreyman and art by Jeff Brown @jeffbrown_graphics

QOTD: Do you have a favourite animal to read about in books?
