"We've had shabbiness for far too long, darling," Jibby Beane, wielding her cigarette holder in the crush of a crowd at a 90s Vivienne Westwood show. "I feel wonderful to be the age I am darling and I just can't wait to get into the clothes."

RIP to this fabulous woman, art gallerist, fashion muse. Knew when we were doing this interiew it was golden. I was in AWE of her self possession.

(Of course this clip is part of my documentary, so I went looking for Jibby a few years ago just before the first screening at Central Saint Martins - I so wanted her to be there to enjoy the audience reaction to her - I followed a few leads - sadly, no one I talked to knew where she was - "doing something with art" was as far as I could get).

Posthumously tonight, raising a glass to Jibby and to Vivienne and their quest for the extraordinary!

Thank you to @perfectmagazine for letting us all know about her passing. So much appreciated.

Honestly, I’d never wear Tom Ford Tuscan Leather to meet a friend on a beautiful crisp spring day for a walk in the park and an outdoor lunch at a cafe. Instead, I’d probably reach for D&G LIGHT BLUE. If I was looking to meet my wife, I’d reach for my rare and special bottle of ODEJO a jaw dropping offering from Jeff Lounds and Tim Blanks that manages to captures the refreshment of a clean sparkling water with cucumber. Extremely understated, but also unlike ANYTHING else I’ve smelled in the category.

“Steven Meisel 1993, A Year in Photographs” è una mostra straordinaria fatta di foto scattate nel solo anno 1993, una testimonianza della grandezza assoluta di Meisel e soprattutto della sua duttilità, del suo ineguagliabile talento e della sua modernità.
La mostra chiude oggi e quando ha aperto a novembre mi ero promesso che sarei venuto a vederla e così ho fatto. Questo viaggio è il mio tributo al più grande fotografo vivente, a colui che negli anni della mia adolescenza ha segnato il mio amore per la moda, la mia estetica e il mio percorso e non ultimo è un regalo al piccolo Carlo che sognava di vivere in quel mondo della Moda così lontano dal comune che oggi non esiste più.

P.S. Quando inaugurò la mostra @timblanks scrisse un pezzo meraviglioso e commovente che mi fece emozionare e che ieri prima di andare ho voluto rileggere. Lo consiglio.
