Happy World Photography Day. Photography has been part of my life for a long time. I started in the film era, spending countless hours in darkrooms and photographing everything from sports to weddings. As life became busier and my kids became the priority, photography slowly took a back seat. Years later, wildlife photography reawakened that passion. Since then, photography has taken me to places I never imagined I’d visit, introduced me to remarkable wildlife, and connected me with some truly wonderful people. This photograph, taken by @jeffmitchell2112 in Patagonia, reminds me that photography is about much more than the images we bring home. It’s about the experiences, the friendships, the early mornings, the long hikes, and the privilege of witnessing extraordinary places. For that, I’ll always be grateful. 📷 Happy World Photography Day. #WorldPhotographyDay #NikonCreators #ThePhotoSociety #WildPatagonia #Photography

Patagonia 2026 • Day 25/25 — Patagonia When I think back on Patagonia, I’ll remember the pumas. Petaca, Virgo, Escarcha and her cubs, and Dania. I’ll remember their strength, their grace, and the way they moved through a landscape that often felt wild, rugged, and unforgiving. But I’ll also remember everything that made their lives possible. The guanacos grazing across the hillsides and sounding the alarm when danger approached. The condors circling overhead. The caracaras watching patiently from nearby ridges. The tracks preserved in fresh snow. The mountains that shaped every journey and the winter conditions that transformed the landscape into something both beautiful and revealing. What makes Patagonia remarkable isn’t any single species. It’s the way everything is connected. Predators, prey, scavengers, weather, terrain, and season all play a role in sustaining this extraordinary ecosystem. Over the past twenty-five days, I’ve shared stories about pumas, but looking back, those stories were never just about pumas. They were about Patagonia itself. A winter landscape full of life, resilience, beauty, and connection. When I look at this photograph of Dania moving through her world, I see more than a puma. I see an animal perfectly adapted to its environment and a reminder that some of the most remarkable places on Earth are remarkable because of how everything fits together. For one unforgettable week, I had the privilege of experiencing a small part of that story. As this series comes to an end, I’d like to thank @michellevalbergphotography, @jeffmitchell2112 and @wildcat_expeditions for making this adventure possible. Their knowledge, generosity, and passion for Patagonia helped create an experience I’ll never forget. 📍 Torres del Paine Region, Chile 🐾🏔️🦙🦅❄️🇨🇱 Patagonia 2026 • Day 25/25 #PatagoniaChile #ConservationPhotography #NatureStorytelling #ThePhotoSociety #NikonCreators

Patagonia 2026 • Day 24/25 — The Final Day. Our final day in Patagonia looked a little different. After several days focused on pumas, we spent the day making our way across parts of the park we hadn’t yet explored on our journey back to Punta Arenas. It gave us a chance to slow down and appreciate the landscapes that had been the backdrop to every encounter. Fresh snow. Frost-covered ground. The Towers glowing in first light. Views of Patagonia we hadn’t yet seen. One surprise was finding flamingos. My previous experiences with flamingos had all been in the warmth of East Africa. Seeing them standing in a Patagonian winter landscape felt completely unexpected. At another stop, a lone guanaco appeared in beautiful light beneath a snow-covered mountain. It felt less like another wildlife sighting and more like Patagonia offering one final farewell before the journey home. The flamingo would later become the final photograph I made in Patagonia. 📍 Torres del Paine Region, Chile 🦩🦙🏔️❄️🇨🇱 Patagonia 2026 • Day 24/25 #TorresDelPaine #WildPatagonia #nikonoutdoors #ZCreators #ThePhotoSociety

Patagonia 2026 • Day 23/25 — A Fraction of a Second These two photographs were made less than a second apart. Same puma. Same hillside. Same light. Same camera settings. Yet they tell two very different stories. For those old enough to remember the late-1990s Budweiser commercials... “Wassup?!” 😛 A fraction of a second later, Dania remembered she was a Patagonian puma and returned to her regularly scheduled apex predator programming. Wildlife photography can be funny that way. We spend hours searching, hiking, waiting, and hoping for the perfect moment. Sometimes the image that makes us smile is the one we never planned for. So now I’m curious... 1️⃣ Wassup?!
2️⃣ Game Face Which one are you keeping? 📍 Torres del Paine Region, Chile ❄️🐾🇨🇱 Patagonia 2026 • Day 23/25 #PatagonianPuma #TorresDelPaine #NikonCommunity #ZCreators #ThePhotoSociety

Patagonia 2026 • Day 21/25 — A Quiet Moment Every morning began in darkness. Before the hiking. Before the wildlife. Before whatever the day had planned for us. There was this. A frozen lake. Fresh snow. And the first light reaching the mountains. For a few minutes, all of the anticipation faded away. Nothing needed to happen. Nothing needed to be found. The moment was enough. 📍 Torres del Paine Region, Chile ❄️🏔️🇨🇱 Patagonia 2026 • Day 21/25 #TorresDelPaine #PatagoniaChile #WildPatagonia #NikonCommunity #ZCreators

Patagonia 2026 • Day 20/25 — A Day in the Life Every morning began in darkness. Often, the spotters had already been out for an hour or two before we left the lodging. Neither they nor we knew exactly what the day would bring. Rarely were we immediately on a puma. More often than not, our first reward was watching the first light reach the Towers. 1/5 → #TorresDelPaine #PatagoniaChile #WildPatagonia #NikonCommunity #ZCreators The search started long before the photographs. The spotters worked ridgelines, scanned distant slopes, and followed any clue that might lead to a puma. Eventually, one appeared. 2/5 → #PatagonianPuma #Puma #WildlifePhotography #NikonZ9 #Patagonia Finding the puma was usually just the beginning. Now came the balancing act. How do we stay close enough to observe without influencing what happens next? 3/5 → #NatureStorytelling #WildPatagonia #ConservationPhotography #PumaTracking #NikonCreators Some encounters lasted only a few minutes. Others stretched into hours. Those longer encounters were often my favorites. The longer we watched, the more there was to see. 4/5 → #PatagonianPuma #WildlifePerfection #NaturePhotography #NikonCommunity #PatagoniaWildlife Eventually the sun would set and we’d make our way back to the lodging. Even then, the day wasn’t quite over. We kept one eye on the ridgelines. Sometimes Patagonia had one more surprise waiting for us. 5/5 #Guanaco #PatagoniaSunset #TorresDelPaine #EarthCapture #NikonLandscape 📍 Torres del Paine Region, Chile ❄️🐾🏔️🇨🇱 Patagonia 2026 • Day 20/25
