ArtsHub Featured Profile: @jeffstauderart ✨ Massachusetts native, Jeff Stauder, is a motivated and talented creative just trying to “create one truly great picture before he dies”. Along his journey, Stauder received a BA in Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. While obtaining his MFA, Stauder won the 1996 Dana Pond Painting Award, an annual competition that honors three exemplary artists who have done astonishing work. Following graduate school, Stauder moved to New York City where among other things, he created the Artists Theoretical Racing Circuit, a collaborative conceptual art project. Stauder arrived in western Massachusetts in 2008, where he has been able to revel in imagistic historicism. His work has been widely exhibited in the Northeast, including a solo exhibition at the University of Massachusetts. Most recently, in 2022, Stauder was awarded a Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowship in Painting.
