Confrontational. Pensive. Contemplative. Resilient.

If we can’t wrestle with who we are now, we will never be able to take the steps necessary for profound and lasting change. American Despair from Ministry of Apathy is out now. This journey of harsh noise and power electronics creates the space needed for that deep reflection.

Are you willing to dive in?

Back in March, we gathered dear friends who were curious about this church forming in our hearts (all of us!!). We listened and shared about our curiosities, fears, and longings for church and sacred community.

We sat with this question: “When you think of “church”, what do you long for?”

In an impossible nutshell, this is what the collective shared:

We long for a church that feels
less like an institution we attend
and more like a people we belong to…
a spiritual home
where God is alive,
people are known,
questions are welcome,
difference is honored,
creativity is released,
and faith becomes something
we actually live together.

I wonder if this resonates with you? I wonder what longings you’re holding? I wonder what’s stirring in you?

We’re holding another Info Session gathering this Sunday, October 11th at 10am for those interested. Maybe you share some of these longings. Maybe you’re curious about church. We’d love to share more about what’s forming and what we’re dreaming about. All ages are welcome!

Please RSVP—link in our bio. Or comment below “interested”, and we’ll DM you the link and details.

I know everyone has been dying to know what The Haunt sounds like if it’s run through the Repulsive Note Gargler from @acidrainpedalworks…

Wait no one has asked? Well screw it. You’re gonna find out anyway. Enjoy the noise. Grab a Haunt while you still can to make your own chaos.

As we prep for this week’s release of the new Tenebrae Annex trilogy, I realized that September has traditionally been a busy month for PKD. We’ve got several albums celebrating release-a-versaries (that’s a thing, right?), so I’m going to take time to shout-out each of them.

First up, this epic from Echo Broke Alone, “The End Of Humanity,” released on September 6th, 2024. Written and composed by Bryan Patton, this record is flat-out beautiful. Themes it wrestles with (the loss of humanity, systemic violence, and more) are deeply embedded within our society, and the room that this album gives to those laments is spacious and generous. Warm, fuzzy guitars with the tones dialed in perfectly, atmospheric ambient passages…insert “chefs_kiss.gif” here.

I’m including some never-before-seen alternate cover art versions that I created in the process of working with Bryan on this album. He absolutely picked the right iteration for the final art, but I’ve always enjoyed seeing alternate art from bands that I love, so I figured y’all might dig seeing these.

If you’ve never heard it before, you need to check out “The End Of Humanity” asap. And if you’re a tape collector, you’re in luck…we have a few copies still in stock over in the Bandcamp store.
