My mission is to get you walking into the “Free Weights Area” with confidence. I know personally how intimidating it can be when you are new to a gym or trying to get back into it.
Maybe you’re not sure on the form, not sure what weights to use or maybe you just need a friendly face to guide you around! Pop me a message, let’s talk about it 💬

Gotcha! There are none! 😉
- You will not look bulky, if you lift weights
- You will not magically turn into a man, if you lift weights
-You will not hurt yourself (unless done incorrectly) if you lift weights
-Not all weight training is about aesthetics, it can be about functionality too!

“Deadlifts are bad for your back”
I disagree.
They are really useful, let me tell you why!

They teach you how to pick heavier items up off the floor. A lot of people get this wrong and put their back out!

It’s also useful for later on in life, if you start building that strength now, it will be a lot easier later on!

Even as a coach, I have parts that I don’t particularly like. for example how my legs look here - the cellulite.

But I am actually more worried about how my body performs rather than how it looks!
I personally think this is more important, especially for later on in life!

Also who cares about the little bit of cellulite on my legs when those legs helped me win a competition 🏆

It’s so important to appreciate how far you have come.
Whether that be overcoming your anxieties, how much you have grown, the stuff you have let go of, how strong you are now (the list is endless).

It’s all about appreciating those small changes because they add up!

I am so so proud of my Strongwomen! They have been smashing it as usual 💪🏻
We’ve even had a few new faces too - which is always welcomed! Encouraging, welcoming and pushing each other is what this workshop is all about 🫶🏻

So if you want to try something outside your comfort zone and feel strong - Our next Workshop is September 20th, pop me a message to save your place! 💪🏻

My face when someone says…🤨 part 3

First things first-

Training to failure isn’t always the way! This is very dependent on your goals. I personally don’t do this as I will just end up fatigued. This just doesn’t suit my goal of being as strong as I can 💪🏻

Adding weight during your session can be a great way to see progress but it doesn’t need to be every session. This is not the only way you can measure progress! For example- adding reps, adding sets, how the weights felt - there are so many ways to measure progress!

“Toning up” is increasing muscle. To increase muscle we need to lift heaaaaavy! Now I don’t mean testing your one rep max every week but there’s a reason we call it resistance training 😂

And finally - feeling sore isn’t really an indication of a session done well. Most of the time it’s our body’s way of telling us that it is not used to that movement yet. Sometimes we may also feel this when we increase weight too.
